Description
Hi, we are Rani, Chris and Noah, a family of 3 that moved to Spain 4 years ago. We bought a small finca house with a big piece of land (6000m2), added some dogs, some chickens and started a whole new life for ourselves. Life in the Spanish countryside feels sometimes a bit like living in the Wild West, a lot of things we had to learn and we quickly learned how much it works it actually takes to maintain everything. There is always work to do and the list never ends but even still it was the best decision we ever made, there is something really special about living so close to nature and we work very hard to finish out little piece of paradise. We made our home very comfortable, we have all the things we need, a big pool, air conditioning, solar panels, a well with water, .. but we have always work on the land and house projects and hoping for help with this. In exchange we will learn you all about life in the Spanish countryside, we live comfortably but a lot of things are back to basics, we love to meet new people, we both have traveled a lot of the world as backpackers so love a cultural exchange opportunity, hope to have you with us. We have a small child of 2 years old and 3 dogs so guests must be comfortable around both ;)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Me, Rani, have done a lot of workaway experiences myself, all over the world and I always loved it. It was just a great way to learn more about different lifestyles around the world, connect with different people and share stories, ideas. It is nice to actually be on the other side as a host and welcome people into my house to show them what life looks like in the Andalusian countryside. You will have a room in our home so you will be taken into our little family, we always go do nice stuff in the weekends and we will take you along and show you around a bit. Rani is from Belgium and speaks 5 languages and Chris is from New Zealand and speaks English, at home we speak English and Dutch but our little one (Noah) speaks 3 languages. There will be more than enough language exchange. We have traveled a lot before we moved here so we love exchanging stories and languages and are very open minded people. Would love to connect!
Help
Work on the land - strimming, irrigation, work in veggie garden, help with the chickens (coop), putting up cane, creating grass areas, trimming trees, ..
A few house projects like painting for example
We are always busy working on the land ourselves, it feels like it is a continuous list but having that extra hand would be very helpfull.
Tasks will be done together with Chris who will show you how everything works. We had to learn a lot of these things by ourselves with no prior knowledge and now we know what it means to live almost off grid and we would love to learn you about this.Languages

You will be staying in a newly renovated room on the side of our house so you will have a bit of privacy, you share the bathroom and kitchen and general living area with us. The room is very nice and has air conditioning. We will provide you with food 3 times a day.
What else ...
Our house is about 15 min drive from the town, we could pick you up from the airport but you will be bound to the house and nature around it, but we go out to town quite a lot so you can come with us. If you want we also have a bike but it’s up and down so not super easy.
