    Description

    Welcome to our hobby farm

We’re Tim and Di, and we’d love to share our little slice of semi rural Australia with travellers looking for a genuine country experience. Our 20-acre Hobby Farm is located in Carwoola, just 20 minutes from Canberra and close to Bungendore, offering peaceful surroundings while still being within easy reach of shops, attractions and national parks. We are not a business, we love the environment we live in.

We enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and believe Workaway is about more than exchanging work for accommodation —it’s about sharing experiences, learning from one another and creating lasting friendships.

Our property is always evolving. Depending on the season, you might help with establishing our orchard and vegetable gardens, maintaining the grounds, small building and maintenance projects, fencing, firewood, landscaping, or caring for our animals. We have two dogs, sheep, lambs, an Alpaca, a Llama and lots of chickens. There’s always something interesting happening.

In return, you’ll enjoy comfortable accommodation (queen bed, dedicated bathroom), shared cooking, home-cooked meals, plenty of opportunities to explore the local area, and the chance to experience Australian country life. If you’re interested, we’re also happy to share our knowledge of living rural, volunteering, community projects, camping and four-wheel driving.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable, hardworking and self-motivated people who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in what they do, and are happy to pitch in as part of the household. We value open communication, mutual respect and a relaxed atmosphere.

Whether you’re staying for a week or a little longer, we hope you’ll leave with new skills, good memories and a few stories to tell.

We look forward to welcoming you to Carwoola!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Separate room with queen bed .
Sole use of main bathroom which has a shower and bath. Conservative use of water appreciated (3min showers) as we rely on rain water that is collected in tanks and pumped to the house.
Use of main separate toilet (not shared with us but used by occasional visitors to the house). Access to our WiFi.
Use of kitchen and laundry facilities as required.

We will provide meals at home consistent with our usual diet. We eat meat and vegetables from many world cuisines with a focus on low gluten (to accommodate Di’s gluten intolerance). We would appreciate shared cooking so that we can experience your culinary delights too.
