  • Description

    Description

I am a earthbag, community builder. I like to provide vegan meals to my guests. Typically cooked by the power of our sun.
My current personal project is a 14 ft. Diameter round superadobe earthbag guesthouse, with a separate hyperadobe bathroom/ mechanical room.
I am also supporting others to realize their dream homes.
Recently my new neighbor Sam (workaway volunteer) from last year, has started building his dream subterranean hyperadobe geodesic dome. So this is another project that I will be involved this year.

I live 5 miles from the Mexican border. 15 minutes to bisbee. We have absolutely beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Work away volunteers will get a lot of experience with earth bag super Adobe and hyper adobe techniques and construction. Also opportunities of working with adobe and earth plastering. we will be fabricating gutters, and metal on roof.blow in cellulose insulation for roof cavity. Earthen interior plaster.

  • Help

    Help

Experience isn't required. Most help is labor, certainly willing to teach more specialty skills, such as carpentry, various plastering mediums, and general concepts of off grid living and passive solar design.

    Accommodation

A few possibilities for sleeping accommodations. Tent or car camp on land. My co owners r taking covid very serious so right now the unfinished kiva guest house is an option. A typical day for food would be a oatmeal or quinoa for breakfast at 10. Rice and Beans with a salad at 1:00 dinner close to 6 pm. I am open to special food needs.
It's a community setting so encouraged to participate in food preparation. Also want to incorporate a yoga practice to balance body from the physical labor.
    Encourage playing music together.

    What else ...

I enjoy being a part of community. There is great hikes outside of bisbee, 15 minutes away. Also have the chiricahua mountains and monument to the east an hour. To the south is Douglas and Agua Prieta, Mexico to the south 20 mins. To the north is Tombstone and the Dragoon mountains.
