Description
Our teahouse, an Events Venue in Prague with community at its heart is coming to a temporary close, hopefully to reopen in a year or two. With it’s theatre room, workshop, and various corners we have a lot of things that need to be re-homed through sales and online markets. We also have 2 happy boys who need looking after while we sort through everything. Closing party is April 1st 2023, so we are mainly looking for help a month before and after this.

Help
In June 2014 our unique teahouse sprang to life specialising in a cosy living-room atmosphere with a vast range of drinks to choose from. Based in the Czech Republic, it seemed only logical to bring a selection of tea and beer together, moulding together the two atmospheres of a healthy, centred teahouse and sociable, high-energy bar.
Surrounded by books, musical instruments and board games, the teahouse provides a space for different social gatherings such as chess club, Czech and English lessons, reading groups and crafts. With the monthly cultural programme, we’ve also become known for serving up a wide variety of cultural events in both Czech and English; theatre, comedy, discussions known as “Tea Talks”, live music, poetry nights, art exhibitions, film and workshops. – all available for free on an optional donations basis. Our aim is to provide a relaxed space where our guests can share experiences and learning something from each other taking these connections with them.
We will need help;
sorting, packing and selling things.
Painting walls and fixing things
Childcare for our boys
Cooking, cleaning and doing laundry at home while we work long hours.
Positive support through an emotional time.
Volunteers will not be asked to help with the food or drinks, we have a team of trained staff who make teas and serve drinks.
We suggest in exchange for 5 hours of work a day we can provide accommodation in our apartment, breakfast and a meals either at the teahouse or at home, plus an endless supply of tea.
We believe that by being an open minded and welcoming community, we can collectively make the world a nicer place.Languages spoken

With our young family in our home apartment in our living room, which is mainly used for guests and toys and a variety of musical instruments. There is a choice of beds and bedding supplied. In the apartment lives Andy and Helen, the owners of the Teahouse, with their sons Freddy (6) and Theo (2). After the recent passing of Andy's parents who owned the apartment, we are also trying to clear out at home, so there are boxes.
All amenities are nearby in the affluent area of Hradčanská / Dejvice, the heart of embassy neighbourhood as located close to the castle. 5 minutes’ walk to the metro Hradcanska, trams 1, 5, 8, 18, 20, 25, 26 and easy airport transport.What else ...
Prague is a beautiful city great to explore, with cheap good transport many parks and green spaces along the river. Czech is incredibly affordable compared to most European cities, and recommend drinking beer, boating on the many rivers (best dressed as a sailor or pirate drinking run like the locals), skiing, or just hopping on a train out of the city. We can lend camping equipment too.
