Description
Nederlanders welkom!
We are looking for a vacation house sitter Jul 20 ish till Aug 9-16 ish who would come a few days before we leave so that we can train you in taking care of the house, garden and animals.
We currently have seven cats, some of which are kittens and are for Sale.
Also four big rabbits, four chickens. And a containerised kitchen garden.
We grow tomatoes, herbs, citrus fruits, potatoes et cetera all in containers.
There are a lot of trees and bushes in the garden that needs some serious cutting back..
We try to have a closed loop in the garden meaning that we shred our cuttings in a wood shredder and then throw it back in the chicken coop for them to compost further.
If you come, we will have a daily chore list plus some videos of the jobs that you can do while you are here. We try to do up to 5 hours per day, five days per week.
If you are naturally organised and like to clean, organise and declutter this position might suit you!
It is very important that you are not afraid of chickens and rabbits and are able to catch them and hold them.
If you have no experiece with chickens and are generally good with animals and are not afraid to learn how to handle chickens that could work too.
You would arrive and get a big intro to tending to the garden. Focus is also on helping to clean and declutter the house.
The main task is taking care of the container kitchen garden, cats, rabbits and chickens.
We harvest the produce and make pickles, dehydrate, can, etc. If you want to take care of the garden during this period, you will receive guidance and you can learn a lot quickly.
It all comes close, so it's also important not to experiment or even be proactive. (In the past, this led, for example, to fertilizing plants that had already been fertilized and then were lost, overwatering which caused plants to die, damage to garden equipment, etc. So always first take a photo and communicate via whatsapp with initiatives.
We're family with Mom, Dad, two sweet girls age 16 and 12.
Mom is an author. Dad is a teacher at aviation engineering. Girls play bassoon, harp, love horses and have many playdates.
Couples welcome.
Please note that we would only socialise during working hours and maybe share one or two mealtimes per week. You would not be integrated in the rest of family life outside of working hours. -
