    Description

Hi! We are a English family of 4 living in the beautiful city of Sarlat La Caneda in France. The children are Bi-Lingual... and in fact were born here. My husband is a vegetarian so I can cater for all needs that's no problem. We have two cats who we rescued in the pandemic and we have a very lovable French Bulldog. We absolutely love living here and we love our house. We hope you will too.

We have bought a big house with 3000m2 garden, in it we have chickens, a boules pitch, a swimming pool and a fruit orchard. We've turned the bottom of the house into a separate apartment and we have friends and family to stay in it. We are looking for help to do some renovations in our house. We want to spruce up the apartment a bit, knock a few small walls down, plasterboard the upstairs of the house, paint the outbuildings and inside the house, put up stud walls in one part of the outbuilding to make a office....help with the garden is our first desire, pruning all the fruit trees, cutting back bushes, taking out some small dead trees, help with building a deck for the above ground swimming pool. Dog walking and maybe babysitting too?

Hopefully you will enjoy being in a French and English household and you will enjoy the medieval city of Sarlat. You will spend you time with me mostly, the kids are back to school and my husband works in the office here at the house. The tasks we have are too big for me to tackle alone so I would like to do them with you - get to know you and your life. I grew up in Asia and Scandinavia and now live in France, I hope I could pass on life skills to you...I like to cook, so hopefully you will benefit from good meals, I love our garden and hope with you to make it a even better space, I hope you could learn some English and French cultures from us, equally I hope to learn some things from you and your experiences also. You will be very welcome here.

You will have a self contained apartment - there is one huge king size bedroom, kitchen, living room. brand new bathroom and you will share the garden with us.
I will cook all the meals (breakfast will be just toast and cereal you can do in the apartment) and you can eat in the apartment or with us that's no problem and we would be happy to have you.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are TONS of things to do around here. The medieval city is stunning. There are canoe trips, incredible caves to visit, hot air balloon rides, really long flat cycle paths, lots of beautiful villages around, lots of gourmet food to be had too! Plenty of markets, selling food and other wares. Fishing (which my son is obsessed with) hikes, Huge chateaus to visit, beautiful water gardens and topiary gardens to visit. Rock climbing, mountain biking, road biking, there really is all sorts to do!
We love it here, the people are so friendly, the countryside is just stunning, so many nice walks to go on, its a very very beautiful area to live in.
