    Description

Hello, my name's Riccardo but my friends call me Myst! I am very interested in building community's and cooperative projects as well as taking care of nature. I have experimented in living in different community situations and developed a big interest in permaculture, that I’m studying and practicing as much as I can, with the purpose of taking the Permaculture Degree. In the past I studied computer programming and worked with it. I also love games, especially roleplaying games of any kind. I am trying to merge these passions in creating new tabletop games and videogames, especially for educational purposes. I am also involved in the Eco Sardinian Network.
I bought my own place 3 years ago: a small house with a chunk of land with trees, bushes and gardens, cats and a friendly dog, in the hills at 25 km East from Cagliari, since more than 3 years. My project is to transform the place in a way that visitors can learn Permaculture from real examples, games and simulations. Do you want to help me?

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I can share my knowledge about Permaculture, communities, computers and games. Theory and practice ;-)
There are opportunities to learn and share skills with DIY projects, gardening, preserving food, property maintenance. I like to utilize recycled materials with an eye towards creative solutions.
Probably some days we will go around to visit and exchange with other friends and projects of our valley!

    Help

There are many projects I would like help with. There is always a variety of jobs which keeps it interesting such as gardening and tree management, building and fixing furniture and structures in wood and other materials (for example a Compost-Toilet or a shed), improving the pipes and channel's system for water and drainage, developing some appropriate technologies like making Rocket Stoves, solar driers, etc., tidy up the place and make it beautiful, test games, cook meals, feed animals, etc. etc. Every day is different ;-)

    Accommodation

I can host in a caravan near the house. I also have space for small camping tents.
I usually rent a room of the house, that sometimes can be available for temporary guests.
All the basic services are available, included a WiFi Internet connection.
Meals will be mostly vegetarian and you'll be involved in the preparation of the food and the general maintenance of the place.
I am sorry but there is no space for campervans inside of my place, they can eventually be parked nearby.
    Smoking is allowed only outside.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We live at the top of a small hamlet called San Paolo in the hills of the SS125, between the city of Cagliari (and hinterland) and the forest of Sette Fratelli mountains, there are many good walking tracks nearby where you can find small rivers, mediterranean bush and very ancient remains of Nuraghes and Giant's Tombs.
Every month in this area there are some community events like markets of local products, workshops and... parties!
The closest beach is not far, just 15 km away by car...
There's a bus service that stops at the entrance of the hamlet that connects with the center of Cagliari, a small nice city where you can explore many of the beautiful local sights and find all the services and products that you need.
You can find basic services like a bar, a tobacco shop, a mini-market, a pizza-restaurant etc. at 3,5 km.
