A golden sunset casts warm light over the ocean waves. A solitary seagull stands on the wet sand, peacefully reflecting in the tranquil, glowing scene.
Silhouetted trees frame a tranquil beach at sunset, where a group of people and a lone figure stand peacefully by the shimmering ocean waves.
The image shows a backyard with banana trees, a wooden fence, lush green grass, and a corrugated plastic patio roof, surrounded by tall forest trees.
A bright kitchen features a window with two stained glass flower panels, a toaster, kettle, hot plate, small oven, wooden countertops, and greenery outside.
This cozy sunroom features wicker furniture, a black and white leaf rug, string lights, a kitchenette, bamboo divider, window views, and relaxed, inviting decor.

    Description

Please have a read of our full profile and if you feel you would be a great fit for our family and would love to have this Australian beachside experience please message with more about yourselves and why you think it will be a great experience for us all. If it sounds like a good fit we can then have a video chat. Our Workaway is for couples or friends travelling together.

You will have private use of our adorable upcycled and reclaimed greenhouse cabin, 50 meters to the beach track and miles of unspoilt sand and surf, 20 minutes north of Byron Bay and 40 minutes south of The Gold Coast (35minutes from Coolangatta airport). For 25 hours per week/per couple/2 x friends shared between you (12.5 hours each) around the house and garden you will get a private accomodation with fridge, kettle and toaster and cooking equipment and a share bathroom (though we will be building a shower and toilet for the cabin!). You will also have basic wifi. The bus to Byron Bay town is just outside our house but having your own car is highly recommended if you want to explore the region. This will suit people who are strong and handy as it’s mostly cleaning and odd handy person/carpentry type jobs around the house and garden. A carpenter or someone with strong building or house painting skills would be a dream but not a must! If you are strong and happy to get your hands dirty in the garden or around the house this is perfect too.

    Our family is –
    Christina (Mum)
    Charlie 13 years old
    Henry 17 years old
    Luna the cat

We are a friendly, noisy family! We are all very creative and love music. We love to travel and are very open minded. As a family we love to be busy, especially in the outdoors, gardening, walking on the beach, having a fire in our garden, camping, playing basketball and going to markets and our local cafe. We all love spending time with our friends and our home is normally busy and social. The boys love to be hanging with mates or playing basketball. Christina owns a small business and works from home. She is currently studying as well. She is also a musician.

Our home is in South Golden Beach, New South Wales, 20 minutes north of Byron Bay and 40 minutes south of The Gold Coast (35minutes from Coolangatta airport). We live near the river and you are 50 meters from being able to launch a paddleboard or kayak. The surf beach track is 50 meters from our home. Having your own car is ideal as there is a bus at the end of our street but because this is a country area it only comes around 2 times a day. Christina is a single mum and passionate about edible gardens, suburban sustainable living and tiny house principals and your time with our family will be helping her create a home that fits these values.
