Description
My name is Mick, I’m 50, & I have just bought what will be a beautiful house in Magalas, a typical circulade style village, not far from Beziers, France. This area benefits from over 300 days of sunshine per year, which helps to make it one of the best wine growing regions in the World.
I am looking to turn an 18 metre squared area on the ground floor of my house into a small self contained studio; I need to turn a small room on the 1st floor into an en-suite bathroom; & on the 2nd floor, I have a double height attic of 44 square metres that I want to convert into my self contained living quarters.. I will also be painting, & chiselling off plaster to reveal the original stonework, some of which dates back to the 12th centuryTypes of help and learning opportunities

You will be living in a house, parts of which date back to the 12th century, in a historic circulade village, in the heart of wine country, & a bus ride from the beach, or the mountains. You will help restore a period property, hopefully learn some new skills, & almost certainly make some new friends along the way
Help
I will need building & DIY help with the projects detailed in the listing. Would prefer experienced builders, but willingness to help is just as important

I am very interested in learning Italian, if anybody can help?Accommodation
On the 1st floor of the house, there is a bedroom with a double bed, & one with 4 single beds, bunk bed style. There is also a sofa bed in the living room; and it would be very easy to install a single bed in the future 1 bed studio.
I’m happy to cook for volunteers, but food will be simple home cooking. Guests are welcome to cook if they wish, & make full use of the kitchen facilities. The bathroom between the 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor is currently being renovated, so there is only a toilet & bathroom with a ‘rustic’ shower on the ground floor. What else ...
Magalas is a fairly lively village, with beautiful surrounding countryside & vineyards, perfect for walking or cycling. There is an Epicerie, a bistro, 2 bar/restaurants, a pizzeria, a boulangerie, and a tabac in the village; and there are 2 supermarkets 15 minutes’ walk away. If that’s not enough, the village has a train station, & a bus service between the village & nearby Beziers, as well the mountainous region of Aveyron to the north. The beach is a 20-25 minute drive away, or is accessible by public transport.
I have been living in the house nearly 3 years, but there is still a lot of work to doA little more information
