    Description

.*We have a 30 acre lifestlye block, 25 mins from Motueka with cows, sheep, chickens, bees, horses/ponies and a glowworm grotto!. There is a large veggie garden which provides most of our vegetables, tunnel house and an orchard. We try to eat as much as possible from our land so most meat will come from our property and our son is a keen fisherman, so we eat what he catches too.

Our projects include, gardening/landscaping in our veggie garden and orchard, help with animals/kids, fencing, cleaning paddocks, making mulch building projects that need doing. This summer we will be setting up an old bus for living and coverting a container into accomodation, so if there are any keen DIY people, we would love to hear from you! We also spend time preserving/canning food that we have grown so there will be opportunities to learn and help with this. There seems to be a never ending list.

Our ideal volunteer would have at least an interest, if not experience with organic veggie growing and must be prepared to be outside in all weather.

We have accommodation in our retro caravan or the classic bedford bus. Both share our bathroom and composting toilet

. **If you would like to stay with us you will need your own transport, there is no public transport close by and between the land, animals, horses, working and kids i do not have time free to do the hour round trip into town to pick people up.

Our horses are all in work, Kate trains young horses and along with Kuri competes in showjumping and endurance riding. The horses are not suited to novice riders and are mostly pony size, so please do not come with expectations of riding as we are only able to offer this occasionally, to very experienced, small riders. However, we can certainly give plenty of contact with the horses for those less experienced who are keen to be involved.

We are not vegetarians, but only eat meat from our own farm or wild caught fish/game..... Happy to cater for vegetarians - We do use dairy and eggs in our cooking, so if you are vegan, we may ask that you prepare your own meals.
