Description
Hello! We are a small, friendly family living on a peaceful 2-acre property between Noosa and the hinterland town of Eumundi. Lucy is an art teacher and we have a school age child.
Surrounded by bushland and wildlife, our home offers a quiet, nature-connected lifestyle — perfect for someone seeking a slower pace and time to recharge. You’ll hear birds every morning, might spot a wallaby, and yes, we do get the occasional snake or spider!
We’re fairly private people who enjoy gardening, cooking, and simply pottering around the house. Lucy is an artist and loves sewing, while Joe is an avid reader and excellent handyman. Our home runs on tank water and solar power, and we compost and recycle wherever possible — we’re conscious of our environmental footprint and appreciate hosting helpers who share those values. Our family also includes pets, so you’ll need to be happy around animals.
We’re best suited to independent, considerate Workawayers who respect space and enjoy their own company. You’ll be staying in a fully self-contained apartment separate from our home. We offer flexibility with work hours, and in return we ask for initiative, a strong work ethic, and a respectful attitude.Types of help and learning opportunities

Although we live a fairly private life, we genuinely enjoy connecting with Workawayers who are curious, respectful, and interested in experiencing a different pace of life in regional Australia. This is a great opportunity to slow down, spend time in nature, and get a sense of what day-to-day life is like in the Noosa hinterland.
While we won’t be sharing every meal or spending all our time together, we’re happy to chat about local life, sustainability, art, business, and raising a family in a semi-rural setting. If you have questions or want to learn something while you're here — from bread making, composting, gardening and building, to learning some art skills or running a small creative business — we're happy to share what we know.
There are many beautiful walks, markets, waterfalls, and national parks nearby, so if you have your own vehicle, you'll be well-placed to explore the region. We encourage Workawayers to make the most of the peaceful setting and see this as a chance to reconnect with nature and live simply.Projects involving children

Help
We're looking for a single person or couple to help us with the day-to-day tasks involved in our family home and gardens. Tasks are varied and may include things like general cleaning (floors, windows, bathrooms), laundry (washing, hanging, folding), gardening (digging, weeding, pruning, clearing), and occasionally meal prep or baking. If you have skills in building, carpentry, property maintenance, or are confident with tools, we’d love to hear about that too — we have several projects around our home that we would like to undertake, and would love your assistance with this and to share our skills and knowledge with you!
As your accommodation is fully self-contained you have the option to self-cater, and we offer flexible work arrangements. Hours can be grouped into blocks (rather than daily), and we’re happy to find a rhythm that works for everyone. We prefer to arrange arrival on a Monday afternoon, with departures usually on a Monday morning after the space has been cleaned and prepared for the next Workawayers.
You’ll need to be reasonably fit and able to handle physical tasks like bending, lifting, sweeping, or working in the garden. A willingness to pitch in with a positive attitude is more important than experience, but we do appreciate helpers who use initiative and take pride in their work.
We welcome respectful, motivated people with a good grasp of English. You’ll need your own medical/travel insurance, and we ask all helpers to provide references — either through Workaway or independently. This placement may not suit someone looking for a highly social household or who prefers constant company, but if you enjoy quiet surroundings, nature, and a bit of independence, we think you'll enjoy your time here.Languages
