Hello, we are Dirk (30 years), Femke (30 years) and Marthe (8 months). We are living in Bierbeek, a small and cozy village near to Leuven (a student town with a rich history).
We moved to Bierbeek two years ago because we fell in love wit a (potentially) charming farm. We are currently performing some reconstruction works to make it truly charming.
Since the birth of our little daughter 8 months ago, we don't have the opportunity anymore to travel ourselves. Instead of going abroad ourselves, we are welcoming other cultures into our house.
DIY and building projects
Together with us, they can experience the life of a young family, enjoy the Belgian cuisine, and make some day trips to the nice places in the neighborhood.
- Advice concerning the interior design of our barn from anywhere in the world would be very enriching.
- Help with the actual reconstruction works (ceiling, floor, electricity, painting, etc.)
- Help with the maintenance of the garden.
We offer you a private guestroom and also a place at our table.
Bike available (all the time), car available (most of the time), bus stop very near.
We are near a true university town - it's more alive during the academic year (end of September till June), although there are a lot of events in Summer. The university, with about 35,000 students every year, is the oldest Catholic University in the world, founded in 1425. The historic centre is one of the most beautiful in Belgium.
It is also the ideal starting point to discover the rest of the country: Brussels is just around the corner, the Coast is only a 1.5 hour train ride away and Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Liege, Mechelen and Hasselt are nearby.
