Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I myself am an expat but the city is located 20minutes between Gent and Brussels and everything (literally everything) is so well interconnected via public transport that cities like London are 2 hours away! It is the perfect place to be situated to see and experience Europe.
In my 7 years living here I have some idea of cool things we could see together, but I'm always open to adventure so, more importantly, bring your fresh eyes to the house and let's get curious! -

Help
I’m currently working on a house project that I’ve taken on by myself, and I’d love to share the space with someone interested in a genuine cultural exchange while I slowly bring the place together.
In exchange for a free room and groceries, I’m mainly looking for a little help with lighter everyday things around the home — things like light gardening, helping around the house or occasionally looking after my cat. Think of it as those moments where an extra set of hands simply makes life a little easier! :)
More importantly, I’d love this to be a cultural and language exchange. I love languages, travelling, cooking and learning about how people live in different parts of the world, so I’d be very happy to practise languages together, cook and share meals, and show you around the area.
I’d especially love to learn more about your language, food and culture while sharing a bit of Belgian life in return.
The roster would be very relaxed: around 2 days during the week depending on what needs doing, and you’ll always have Friday through Sunday completely free to travel, explore Belgium or head off somewhere else in Europe. -

Accommodation
Single bedroom in my house with power, but no heating. At the start of the week we will go grocery shopping together to source everything you could need. House has all amenities you could need, and I will provide a gym membership for you.
