Description
Located at the outskirts of Monchique mountain range, 20 minutes drive from beautiful surf beaches and picturesque touristic towns, Floresta is a non profit project focused on nature.
Here we:
- Grow food in a gentle and holistic way while improving the soil.
- Creating a syntropic food forest on 4 thousand sq meters of flat land by the stream.
- Nurturing and enhancing 16 hectares of hilly wild land full with young cork oaks and strawberry trees (medronho).
- Collecting wild seeds and seeding in the wild.
- Enjoying the peaceful life, the clean air and the shining stars.
We eat vegetarian, and we try to buy everything local, organic and fair trade.
The land is big and the work is mostly physical, we are looking for fit, positive, independent people who like to spend two weeks in the calmness of nature.
It is recommended however to stay here with a car as there is just too much to do and see around :)

Portuguese language and culture. No till, syntropic, mixed cover crop and other holistic agro forestry approaches. Intesive food forestry, water management, seed bank management and big scale natural landscaping.

Accommodation
Right now we have a nice private caravan for a volunteer / couple by the river stream.
It has a little kitchen and a compost toilet not far away.
What else ...
The area is amazing for nature walks, surfing, dining out and mingling in Aljazur or Odeceixe. The land is 7 minutes drive from the main road, 10 to the bus station, and from 14 minutes to villages and towns. 18 minutes from the nearest beach.
We eat vegetarian on the land, you are welcome to eat meat and fish out.
