    Description

Hi! I’m a 27-year-old who last year bought a piece of land on my own in the Oeste region of Portugal. I’m starting everything from scratch, and my dream is to create a livable space where I can welcome people and begin a project of syntropic agroforestry with native Portuguese species.

The land is located only 10 minutes from the surf beaches of Peniche and Baleal, 15 minutes from the medieval village of Óbidos, 20 minutes from the artistic city of Caldas da Rainha, and 1 hour from Lisbon. It sits in the Planalto das Cesaredas natural reserve, surrounded by hiking trails, nature, and tranquility.

I’m looking for volunteers who can help with gardening, planting, pruning, animals, and small eco-constructions during summer, and also someone trustworthy to take care of the land and animals in winter. Accommodation is simple – a caravan or tent is best for now – meals are provided on helping days in the land, and there’s the possibility of using a car in winter.

This is a place for people who love nature, simplicity, and balance: moments of community sharing as well as the freedom to enjoy silence, personal space, or exploring on your own.

This is not a professional work site – it’s a learning and exchange space. For technical jobs (like electricity or plumbing), I will hire local professionals. Volunteers will only help with safe and simple tasks, always side by side with me

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I speak several languages – Portuguese (native), French, English, a bit of German, and I understand Spanish well – so communication is easy and can also be part of the exchange.

I am happy to share Portuguese culture, traditions, and food. Volunteers can learn about local gastronomy, agriculture, and the syntropic agroforestry project. I also enjoy cultural exchange through conversations, cooking together, or simply sharing daily life.

I would love to show you the surrounding areas: the medieval village of Óbidos, the artistic city of Caldas da Rainha, the beautiful wild beaches of Peniche and Baleal, and even organize a trip to the Berlengas Islands, a natural paradise.

At the same time, this is not a place where we need to be “100% active” all the time. I value both community moments and the ability to enjoy silence, solitude, or your own world. You are free to explore on your own or simply enjoy the peaceful environment whenever you feel like it.

This is a place for those who want to connect with nature, discover Portuguese traditions, and at the same time share their own culture and experiences.

  • Help

    Help

In summer: help in the garden, pruning trees, try agroforestry planting, caring for animals, and creative eco-DIY projects (like painting, small natural structures, or very simple carpentry) – always together with me, in a learning spirit.

In winter: someone trustworthy to look after the land and animals while I’m away

    The project

    At the moment I am:

Preparing space for animals (goats and others).

Starting the vegetable garden and learning agroforestry.

Experimenting with small eco-friendly DIY projects (like outdoor shower, compost toilet, kitchen space, and small garden structures).

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

At the moment the accommodation is simple but comfortable, ideal for people who enjoy being close to nature.

    I can provide:

A tent (with mattress, bedding, and shade/shelter), OR

A space for your own caravan/van if you are travelling with one.

There is access to an outdoor shower and compost toilet (currently being finished and ready in summer ) and my personal kitchen . The environment is safe, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, perfect for those who like a camping-style experience.

Meals are provided on working days, and for those staying during winter there may also be the possibility to use a car without needing to move your caravan.
