Description
Hello! We are Dylan and TK. We have traveled the world in search of the perfect spot to set up our project and to call home. And now here we are in beautiful Umbria!
We are located in between the beautiful towns of Amelia and Narni. Just one hour North East of Rome, smack in the middle of Italy! Our country house has apartments for vacation rental and volunteers with access to private bathroom and kitchen, a workout studio, store, bar, pool, and a calisthenics area and we have three 7-meter rigs and one 4-meter rig for aerial acrobatics! We are also growing food according to organic and permaculture principles, in our vegetable garden and with our olive as well as fruit trees. TK is a pilates and aerial silks teacher as well as a personal trainer, while Dylan focuses on everything else from working through bureaucracy to laundry, plumbing to garden work!
Our property is about 1 hectare, divided into three levels because of the slope of the hill. The hill is southfacing. The lower half you can think of as an ecological playground, where we want to do projects to support and give space to nature. Producing food in the process as well. The upper half is where people are central, including a gym, large pool, aerial silks rigs and calisthenics area. Nature still plays a big role there, but we keep it more organized and comfortable for the humans ;-)
We want to provide a space where people can come to relax while enjoying the local food, and culture, or work on themselves to improve physically and mentally. Or of course, all of the above. In addition to welcoming people from around the world, we also want to be a meeting point for the local community, while contributing to a sustainable, free and fair world.Types of help and learning opportunities

We hope to connect with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life, building a brighter future together.
We are part dutch, part american, and are well integrated in the local italian community. We have many local sports clients and you'll be able to join pilates and aerial silks classes. We are starting to organize informal bar nights at our house for locals and visitors to connect. We can introduce you to organic / permaculture food production. And more!
We can have (vegetarian) lunch and dinner together, but if you prefer you can also cook your own meals (we'll provide the ingredients) since you'll usually have access to your own kitchen. Check with us if this is important for you.Help
Garden work, household tasks, occasional home maintenance and improvement projects. Larger projects on our list are: building a pond, a hugelkultur bed and a permaculture food forest. Moreover, if you have a specific project in mind that you think would work well at our place, we are always open to ideas!
(While we run a retreat center from our home we do not require help with the business. Instead we would like to connect with and work with volunteers from all over the world on permaculture projects, other projects volunteers might be interested to do (including projects on their own initiative), as well as general household and maintenance tasks in and around our home.)Languages spoken

You will either be staying in a fully furnished apartment with double bed, 2 single beds, bathroom with shower, kitchen, and living room; or, alternatively, in a bedroom with queensize bed, access to private shower and kitchen, sharing a kitchen and living room with us. Contact us if it is important for you where you wind up.
You can join us for lunch and dinner or, when staying in the apartment, cook all your meals yourself. In any case we will provide all the food you need. We are a vegetarian household, but if you want to cook meat in your private kitchen that is no problem. What else ...
There are many walking trails in the immediate vicinity, and we are walking distance from a (very) small, picturesque medieval town that has a small shop. If you have a car, there are many interesting towns and much stunning nature to discover within 30 minutes. If you do not, we can usually arrange that you can still explore some of this wider area. There are buses to and from the very small town, but they don't go so often. If you come by public transport, we can pick you up at the trainstations of Orte or Narni-Amelia.
Short stays are possible, but especially for shorter stays please plan time so that you can clean your living space before leaving.A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
There are certain spots in the house / around the property with good internet, but internet isn't great everywhere. If you have specific work requirements, let us know, we can probably work something out.
Space for parking camper vans
Depending on the season and the size of your camper/motorhome, we can find a spot for you. You can make use of a private bathroom with shower inside the house.
Can possibly accept pets
Depending on the season we accept all animals provided they can stay outside. During the tourist / retreat season we do not accept dogs unless you can guarantee they will barely bark (creating a noise problem). Also we have four cats at our house. If you think your pet might be fighting with them a lot, [s]he sadly cannot stay with us.
