    Description

I'm a young female soul in my fifties living with a family of cats on a hill surrounded by trees with a beautiful view of a pine forest near a small town in the province of Ragusa, in Sicily.
The plot is about 2000 sq metres, there are carob trees, olive trees, some fruit trees, young oaks and many pine trees and cypresses giving out a lovely scent to the place. The surrounding area is a mountain bike paradise so if you're on a road trip or wish to bring your bike you'll enjoy exploring the area on your bike in your free time.
The house is a small country house with a comfortable kitchen and living area, and an independent room with en-suite bathroom outside the main house for the guests. I have a small area to grow my own vegetables.

From time to time I need a cat lover who'd love to look after my lovely cats so I could go away for a week or two. If you wish to cat sit then I'd ask you to be here at least 5 days before my departure so you can get to know the cats and they can get used to you.

If you're here to help, on your days off I'm happy to drive you to the nearest bus station where you can catch a bus to the nearby cities, it's a ten minutes drive and I can pick you up on your return.

I speak fluent Italian and English and get by with French. I'm sociable but I also like spending time in my own company, or in quiet company.

I speak fluent Italian and English. I like cooking Italian food and have picked up some Indian cooking skills that I can pass on. I've lived in England for over twenty years and I've assimilated the English culture so I'm not the classic Italian lady nor the typical English one. I like meeting new cultures and exchange views and skills.

I also practice yoga and Tai Chi and I'd be happy to introduce you to these disciplines or to just practice together. I have a certificate as a Yoga Teacher for Beginners which I acquired in India over ten years ago.

    Help

The help needed changes according to the time of the year. I need help weeding the areas and work the soil to plant the winter vegetables. If you know how to make a chicken hen I'd like to do that as I'd like a couple of hens for daily eggs. I've loads of bits and pieces that can be reused for that purpose. I'd love to make my little place as beautiful as possible.

If you love restoring furniture there are a few pieces that need some loving care, sanding and painting.

In exchange for your experience I'll provide you with a comfortable accommodation, good food that I'll cook using seasonal vegetables and spontaneous herbs, and yoga session to initiate you to the practice or to help you deepening your practice.

I'll appreciate your help cleaning the kitchen and veranda, keeping it tidy. I'd also ask you to keep your room clean.

I'd prefer a no smoker as I'm a quitter who struggles not to smoke around people who do.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

The accommodation is in a double room with en-suite bathroom. The entry to the room is independent from the main house so you'll be able to enjoy your privacy.

I'm mainly vegetarian when on my own but occasionally I can eat some meat. I prepare spontaneous herbs and vegetables from my garden. I don't buy fruit as it's often disappointing and I prefer to rely on what my garden and mother nature provides. If you want fruit that isn't available/or in season, then you're free to buy your own supply . I supply raw cane sugar but I don't use honey as a sweetener.

    What else ...

Public transport to the main nearby cities is available at a ten minutes drive and I'm willing to drive you at the bus station and pick you up. There are also many smaller towns nearby that must be seen for their architectural beauty. The sea is about 40 minutes away from the place so if you love the sea this isn't for you but if you enjoy walking and cycling there are many trails all around the area and all you need to do is leave the house and.. walk.

There won't be TV watching in the house as I'd rather listen to music, read a book or have a stimulating conversation, exchange views and experiences. If you're into movies then we can also Netflix together :)
