  • Description

    Description

We are a friendly, down-to-earth family of three, living in Echcua, Victoria, Australia
We are looking for the right person to help us with the daily functioning of our house and farm.
In exchange, you can stay in our basic accomodation on our farm by the Golbourne River.
    Ideally you can speak Spanish

    What we're looking for:
An honest, easy-going, efficient helper with great communication skills. Enjoys helping and living independently. Happy to occasionally help us. Enjoys the Australian bush.
Aprox 4 hours worth of help four days/ week.
Farm work includes - Mow the lawn, ensure cattle have water, care for fruit trees. Vegetable gardening.
House work includes - Cleaning, food preparation. Basic landscaping and renovations. Child-minding possibly.
Ideally you can speak Spanish so our little baby can be exposed to the lanague. (Quiero aprender hablar espanol pero es moi lento)
You'll need your own vehicle to be able to drive into town.
As you will be working closely with our family and in our home, we all need to get along very well. We'd prefer no extra help than someone who's not quite the right fit.

    The accomodation:
Basic, separate from our house. Insulated large shipping conatiner with double bed, couch, wardrobe. Heater.
An enclosed shed with kitchen. Enclosed from wind, but subject to flies.
Basic bathroom - long drop, hot water shower.
    You organise your own meals.
Good reception on telstra network in outside of buildings. Poor reception inside buildings.
Borders the Golbourne river - walking track surrounded by gumtrees, places to swim
We expect you to keep these places clean and tidy. We will sometimes use the joint facilities.

    Our family:
Bridget - A new mum, health care worker, lover of dance, hiking and nature. Spends a lot of time walking our baby to sleep in the pram and delighting in her. Trying my hand at a vegetable garden and basic renovations.
Darren - Enjoys being outside working with his hands, preserving his home-grown fruit, keeping fit. Has a few projects on the go at the moment - landscaping the backyard, renovating the house.
River - Our baby who loves to touch everything, eating a boiled carrot, is fascinated by gum leaves, crawling but loves to stand supported.
Bel - Our old, but surprisingly youthful, a dog who loves a pat and food scraps and walks.

Please get in contact if this interests you with details about yourself (age, interests, experiences etc). If it seems like you'll work well with our family, we can go from there.
As you will be working closely with our family and in our home, we all need to get along very well. This is so both you and us are happy.
