    Description

We are Anton, Aimee, Moomoo & Black (two humans and two dogs).....

Together we are living and working on a farm that is transitioning from conventional farming methods into a permaculture design and organic farming practices.

Anton is a software engineer and Aimee is a project manager, permaculture teacher and soil scientist. We are both non-smokers and we don't use drugs. We enjoy the quiet solitude of our hills, reading books, and going for walks with the dogs.

The property is in the Alpujarra hills near Lanjaron and Orgiva, it has stunning views of the hills and is surrounded by nature.

We hope to include some farm animals in the near future and would like help with some woodworking construction projects.

We are particularly keen to welcome families with children, but not so keen on people with pets as our dogs don't particularly get on very well with them.

What we need varies with the seasons but revolves around farm work.

    What we offer

    Family-friendly environment:

We would be happy to receive families with children

    Accommodation:

Space to park your own caravan
Camping place - we can provide a tent but you should bring your own sleeping bag
Single or shared room depending what's free

    Food: vegan/wegetarian meals inlcuded

    Water:

Potable water canister refilled twice a week (to be used only for drinking)
Non potable water from the alberca / water deposit (to be used sparingly for everything else)

    Electricity:

A place to charge your devices

    An introvert's paradise:

    Very quiet space in nature
    Natural swimming pool (alberca)
Shaded and sunny spots to be in

    What we don't offer

WiFi is limited no streaming and no big downloads
Pet friendly space - our dogs are unfortunately not friendly with other people's pets
Payment - we are not able to pay you, this is an unpaid volunteering position
Parties & entertainment - the place is very quiet and we like to keep it that way, this position would suit an introvert
Mains & water connection to caravans

What you should bring with you

    Working clothes & safety shoes
Camping gear/sleeping bag - if you are not coming in your caravan
    Warm clothes
    Health insurance

We might be able to lend you a tent please ask us if that's needed.

    Smoking, drugs & alcohol

We are only accepting volunteers who agree not to smoke or consume drugs anywhere on the property. Drunk and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated.

    Visitors

Volunteers are free to spend their free time off the property, we ask volunteers not to invite or bring visitors back to the property without consultation with us.

Any visitors are subject to the same conditions as above in relation to smoking, drugs and alcohol.

    Health & well-being

If you have any condition that we should know about in advance we encourage you to share that with us in confidence.

Should your stay start having adverse effects on your well being or anyone else's you may be asked to terminate your stay early. You can also terminate your stay whenever you want to.

    Lifts to and from town

We will pick you up and drop you off in Lanjaron at the beginning and at the end of your stay, if you would like to leave the property during your stay you can hitch a ride to town when we are running errands or hitchhike.
    Setting expectations

All prospective volunteers will be interviewed before being accepted and the initial 2 weeks will be considered a trial period.
