    Description

We will be finishing our workaway trip in May and will then need help at medieval markets and with our move to Wendland

“Are you interested in traveling and the adventures of the Middle Ages?
Do you enjoy working with children, have at least a good basic knowledge of German and camping is no problem for you?
Then I might have just the thing for you!

Experience the exciting world of medieval market traders with us. We run a painting and craft workshop for children and offer a minimum wage during market hours. From August to November, I am still looking for fellow travellers who would like to help me at the markets. We can also always use active support with our move. Renovating, decorating, packing, unpacking... There's always something to do.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As a former and to some extent still active painter, building biologist, adventure educator, scaffolder, roofer, natural building material and vegan food trader, restaurateur and party manager, Uwe has now devoted himself almost exclusively to the fairground trade at medieval festivals. Sabine is a primary school teacher who enjoys sewing and organising clothes swap events, is actively involved in climate protection and likes to help out with community-supported agriculture. So you can be sure that there will be no shortage of possible topics to discuss.
Whether handicraft work on the house, household, create Internet page, gardening, showmanship, we will find out according to your experience and interests. Important are the cultural exchange and the desire to meet new people.

  • Help

    Help

On market days I pay minimum wage with free board and lodging. You can determine your own working hours. However, I would need your help for at least 2-4 hours per day with setting up and dismantling. In between you can visit the mostly historically interesting places, make contacts with the traveling people of the medieval troupe or whatever else you can think of. Of course, you can also help me in our children's painting and craft workshop for a fee. Since you'll be registered with social security, of course, you'll need a work permit!"

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We still live in a small half-timbered house and can offer you your own room and toilet. When travelling, you have your own tent or, if you wish, a bed in an empty logistics trailer.
We eat a vegetarian diet and use organic products as much as possible. We are happy to prepare the two to three meals (depending on your interests) together with you and look forward to a culinary exchange.

Our household is meat- and smoke-free. However, this does not mean that you are not allowed to smoke outside the house or van, or that you can consume your own meat if you can't do without it;-)

    What else ...

During our journey you will get to know exciting historical places again and again. We ourselves still live in Unna and will be moving to Wendland later this year.
