Description
Educational Ecofriendly Farm, located at the west mountains of Puerto Rico. The farm has cows, chickens and cats. The main crops are roots vegetables and tropical fruit trees. The farm is evolving, because it has received numerous volunteers in the past year. With out the help of volunteers it would be impossible, because I work it by myself. It’s not a business, it’s a farm and just a way of living in harmony with the nature and all the rest is species.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
They will learn a different culture, language and a totally new experience for life. The island is rich in culture and gastronomic foods. The tradition and folklore are everywhere, specially in the music and festivals all year around. Puerto Rico is unique in music, art, dance, food, the people as well very friendly, etc. The main language of the island is Spanish, perfect for those who are willing to learn.
We can have allot of dialogues about history, because I’m also an historian and professor in history. Also I belong to the Cultural Society of the town: “Casa de la Cultura Pepiniana”. We’re in charge of the two big cultural festivals of the town: Festival de la Novilla and Festival de la Hamaca. Does two festivities are decades old and rich in tradition. Around the square of the town are two museums and a historic archives that are open for visitors and investigations purposes.
Hope to enrich your stay at the island.

Help
Help at the farm, specially taking care of trees and planting new trees. I work during the morning, because the afternoons get a little bit hot and humid. It’s a tropical island and it rains almost everyday. I work alone in the farm, because there’s no help. Allot of people don’t work and I have been depending of the help of volunteers. My dad is almost 80 years old and can’t work allot anymore. The help will be mostly in taking care of the trees and crops. The farm is not a business, is a way of living. I love nature and farming, it’s my life to restore the human damage.
