Description
Mid September update: Help has started on the land and our first volunteers have arrived, the work has been amazing and very fruitful. Clearing spaces, trimming trees, collecting fruits and making jams is on the way. Soon we'll have a fuller house and colder days, there is still space to join October and November. We're on the lookout for willing hands and open hearts in a learning process to make this place a place of beauty and peaceful living.
Ciao! Welcome to our land restoration project. From Italian "The Roots", this is a little paradise located in a 66 hectares Tuscan estate, immersed in the UNESCO protected Val d'Orcia. We are surrounded by green forests, olive groves, small medieval villages and naturals thermal springs built in the Roman Empire, known for their healing and therapeutic properties. Over the years, the vision is to evolve through active work on land regeneration, water management, building community as well as hosting retreats and workshops. Through joint experience, we will learn from the land how to best honour and restore it.
The work begins on September 7th until end of the year. Our focus during this initial stage will be to set the foundations for eventual planting and food production systems, as well as hosting. The land has been untouched for some years, we will bring back paths, prepare the soil for farming, plant herb and flower gardens, fruit forests and make space for habitable areas that we can enjoy on our free time. The land holds a beautiful energy, with your help we can revive it into a space to welcome many people in years to come.
The team brings together old and new friends joining intention into this project;
~ Marco, 40 from Rome is also a big traveller and deeply values the conscious moment. His work experience revolves around hospitality and regenerative development entrepreneurship with an international background across hospitality operations and experiential design. He as also worked on many retreats and land-based concepts, focusing on creating a warm atmosphere, human experience, beauty and meaningful spaces connected to nature.
~ Ren, 35 from México listens, observes and serves the land talking to the trees and flowers along the way. Informed by ancient Tolteca teachings, permaculture and environmental sciences, he loves Nature and makes his purpose to see life thrive. He's walking this path to see our ground flourish. He's a permaculture designer, a professor for the International Baccalaureate Programme, a student of somatic practices, mainly fascia manouvering and calisthenics for health and longevity.
~ Britanie, 27 from Quebec has travelled for 5 years to study and learn about different cultures, alternative ways of living, permaculture and traditional medicine; She a certified massage therapist, yoga teacher and permaculture land designer. A big outdoor lover, a really good story teller but most importantly, a pro at having a good time! She really values human connections and community building.
We are happily looking forward to meet you soon!

All ages and experiences are welcome, we will prioritize long-term commitment with flexibility for those who want to come for shorter time. Gardeners, farmers, professionals and enthusiasts as well as students are encouraged to apply.
Physical and emotional health is a non-negotiable, we ask for commitment and respect to the land and people who will share space with you. Nature has a way of showing us truly to ourselves, though healing and grounding is not always pretty, we seek to honour that while keeping a clear view that this work requires our best intention every day. -
