    Description

    We are a backpacker hostel in of Puebla, Mexico, a safe, thriving city of over one million inhabitants located among majestic mountains. The colonial center of the city is located just minutes away on foot from our hostel, and from Puebla one can easily reach numerous sites of natural beauty and historical significance.
    Spanish speakers preferred (at least intermediate level).

    Our staff is composed of me (Efraín), my wife (Julissa), and five temporary volunteer.

    We are very enthusiastic about improving our English, and we hope you are enthusiastic about speaking Spanish as well. We are new to the hostel business, so we hope to learn from your travel experiences, while at the same time showing you how we've adapted the environment of a backpackers' hostel to the particulars of Mexican culture. If you come here, we will surely spend many hours on our rooftop patio overlooking downtown Puebla, talking about our respective countries over coffee or tea.

    Help

    Day to day duties chiefly consist of cleaning common areas, dormitories, and bathrooms. Travelers who have skills or experience which could contribute to maintenance are encouraged to apply (e.g. carpentry, electrical, house-painting, etc.). If you have some other skill that you think could be helpful to us, please include this information in your inquiry. Your schedule will be five days of work and two days off, with shifts lasting five hours.

    On your days off, there are numerous sights to see, from the historic center of Puebla, to neighboring Cholula which is the site of the world's largest pyramid. You can reach natural wonders such as Cortes' Pass, the waterfalls of Ahuehuetle, or La Malinche Volcano by bus. Mexico City is about 3 hours away by bus, making it a very convenient weekend getaway.
