Description
Hello everyone, we are Andrea(female) and Michele!
We started 2 years ago our self sufficient life project in a old house near Serrastretta, at 1000 mt above the level sea, in the Calabrian mountains.
We live in an uncontaminated land surrounded by immense and dense forests of beech and chestnut trees and numerous sources of spring water, in a total immersion in the silence of the nature, far away from the caos of the city.
Mainly, we love gardening, so we grow different varieties of vegetables from ancient and local seeds that we picked around our trips in Calabria and that we reproduce every year with great care. But we have also many mountain’s fruit trees: apples, pears, chestnuts but also little fruits as strawberries, raspberries, currants and blueberries.
Many animals keep us company: dogs, chickens, geese, goats, sheeps and bees that give us eggs, milk, honey and lots of love! Everything we grow and harvest we turn into preserves, juices and jams.
We use aromatic, medicinal and wild herbs for the preparation of soaps, oils and detergents for cleaning the house. Also, we bake our bread every week made with sourdough and local flours.
We love living in nature, observing and respecting it in all its forms. For this reason we are interested in plant medicine, natural agriculture (we work the land with the no-digg method, the biodynamic method and the permaculture principles), natural building (with which we have restructured the living spaces of our land ), to the use of the energy of the elements (fire, water, earth) in a harmonious way with the rhythms of nature.
Our land is large and there are many jobs to do during the day: taking care of the garden and the fruit fields, taking care of the animals and the stables, maintenance of the house and of the surrounding green spaces... Also, let's not forget the transformation of the harvested products and the bread-making!
But we also love to take our time and relax, meditating and walking in the woods, reconnecting ourselves with every living being around us.
We are happy to host those who want to immerse themselves in nature with us, people similar to our lifestyle and who really want to exchange experience, growth and knowledge.
We are not a business activity so our goal is to produce enough for our sustenance.

I hadnt even met Michele and Andrea before I knew I loved them. I had so many questions to make sure the farm seemed like a fit, and Michele was quick to respond with patience, friendliness, courtesy, and detail. So when I met them, of course it only got better. They have created with such hard work a little Piece of paradise. Michele… read more
