    Description

Eco-friendly family of 3 - Chris (French), Miriam (French and American) and 2 year old Juliette. + cats, dog, pony, goats and chickens !

    >> Miriam is an English teacher with a deep passion for education and working with children. She is a dedicated advocate for women’s and LGBT+ rights, striving to create inclusive and supportive environments for all. She is also passionate about all things related to maternity, childbirth, and breastfeeding. She enoys sharing knowledge and experiences in these areas to support and empower others.

    >> Chris is a sports teacher with a passion for team sports, especially handball. He practices tennis and biking and enjoys watching soccer. Chris is also interested in woodwork and is considering steering his career path in that direction. He loves DIY projects and help outside, including gardening, and is keen on permaculture and eco-friendly methods. Chris achieved a lifelong dream by fixing up an old VW campervan, which we love to travel in.

    >> We both strive to eat responsibly by growing some fruits and vegetables, choosing local and organic foods and limiting our meat consumption. We are continuously working towards being more eco-friendly.

Our old farmhouse along the Loire river is as charming as it gets, but it's definitely a fixer-upper. We're located just along the river, walking distance from beautiful wild beaches and bike trails you can use to discover the charming villages and castles around us. You can borrow our bikes, however, you will need your own car to get to the bigger city (Orléans, 30min away), to the train station or to Paris (less than 2 hours away).
Our guests will have a private bedroom (we've got 2 extra rooms with plenty of beds) but the rest of the house is shared space.

Our home is a bilingual one : Chris understands English but is more comfortable speaking French, Miriam is happy with either and Juliette is learning both.

    Accommodation

Our house is rather large and lively, it's been described as a happy chaos ! We’ve got 2 guest rooms. Workawayers will have their own bedroom (bedsheets etc included) but the rest of the house will be shared with the family. We try to keep our home clean but sometimes have trouble achieving that goal (oops!!). We provide meals but help and ideas are always welcome ! We love tasting new things and would be happy to buy whatever ingredients are needed if workawayers feel like sharing their favorite recipes.
