Always looking for HANDY PEOPLE - September or Jan-March mostly but this can change –
This house is our hobby and we will spend the next 5-10 years making it beautiful again. You are invited to help.....
We speak German and English. French is very welcome.
Down side: I really cannot cook. But I can provide you with the basics in food.
You have your own kitchen or you can cook in ours (update: actually, we ripped out the kitchen in the appartment next door as well as the floor to renovate it. So that is one of the projects) But bedroom and bathroom are fully in tact and functional.
It is really hard to get here without a car. But we can pick you up and drop you, take you with us for food shopping.
Plus side: Pool, sunshine, your own schedule, your own apartment. Internet. Half hour to a number of fantastic beaches, also St Tropez, St. Maxim, Hyeres and the islands, Plaine des Maures offers hiking and biking just minutes away. Gorges du Verdun is a nice day-trip from here.
We offer 1 week initially then decide if it works out to stay longer. There is enough work to keep you busy for a while.
There isn’t much family life since we work from home and there’s just 1-2 of us.
Jobs:
The house is on a 4K property that has not been taken care of in years so it is a hobby to put back together: Garden design, reworking paths in garden, painting walls indoor and outdoor, redoing parts of walls that are falling apart, placing tiles indoor and outdoor, cutting trees, reviving olive orchard along with terracing and pierres seches, weeding, harvesting olives in the fall, (plumbing job: done) for a new bathroom (done), fixing hinges, repainting window shutters (done), putting staircases back in place, reworking iron doors (done), improving plumbing (done). If you look at the pictures you can probable see other ideas. Most of the work requires some kind of know-how about working with cement, plumbing, paint, tree cutting, gardening.
Our biggest project of the moment is the "mur seches". I will be putting up a picture. There are a lot of them to put in place and we expect this to take a couple of years of loving work :-) .
So, lots to do, take your pick. There no is fixed order on most of the jobs.
The calendar is an estimation of availability – just ask and we can see if we can match our schedules.
Couples or 2 friends is best, there’s an apartment to share. 20 hours / week for 7 nights accommodation, you can determine your own schedule for those 20 hours.

Only a rare bus outside property but we can take you along on our errands.
What you need:
Appropriate working clothes and shoes for paining and yard work, outside, different weather situations.
We don't smoke, so we would ask you to be considerate of that. Zero tolerance for drugs.

Help
The house is on a 4K property that has not been taken care of in years. The house has issues that need repair here and there, walls need plastering and painting, hinges fixed, window shutters cleaned and repainted, staircases put back in place.
The house needs a paint a la Provençal (enduit traditionnel). The garden has a ton of olive trees that need maintenance and terrassing, with pierres sèches walls. We can even use a new terrasse because the current one is sagging and old and falling apart.
So, lots to do, take your pick. We could even use tiling up a new bathroom with plumbing because the current one is from the sixties and not really attractive at all, but functional.

Pool, sunshine, your own schedule, your own apartment. Internet. Half hour to a number of fantastic beaches, also St Tropez, St. Maxim, Hyeres and the islands, Plaines des Maures offers hiking and biking just minutes away. Gorges de Verdun is a nice day-trip from here. Aix-en-Provence is 45 min. away. Nice 1 hour away. St. Tropez half an hour without traffic.
