    Description

We are a family of 5 - Sine 48, Michael 49, our three boys aged 20, 17 and 9 and our two dogs and our cat. We live in the beautiful nature near Skanderborg. For 10 years we lived in different countries, but in 2018 we decided it was time to move back to Denmark and we found what we feel is the most amazing sanctuary hidden away in nature.

The reason why we are searching for workawayers, is both that we always have projects, work with animals and our vegetable garden, but also because we miss meeting people from other countries and getting to know more about their home and culture.

Our home is placed on 8,3 hectares / 20 acres of land that goes down to the lake Mossø. Majority of the land is forrest, but we also have a small meadow and some farmland. We currently have chicken, ducks and geese and are planning in spring to extend our family with some sheep and pigs. We also grow our own vegetables in our vegetable garden.

Some things that are important to us:
    - To live our lives as much as we can in respect of the nature around us
    - Try to help our kids to be curious about finding themselves in a turbulent world
    - That our diet is as much organic and locally sourced as possible
    - finding a path to listen more to our body and heart than our head
    - curious about spirituality and how we are connected

Coming to our home you will be an integrated part of our family. As a family we try our best to create a calm atmosphere where we are both close and at the same time provide each other freedom. You will therefore experience days where all eat and spend time together and other days we are all doing our own things. Staying at our home you will therefore have the same flexibility. We will fully respect your need for privacy and at the same time you are welcome to join us when you would like to.

Our home will probably be a good match for you if you:

    - are looking to spend time in nature and getting grounded
    - enjoy or would like to learn about working on a mini farm, where we try to be as self-sufficient as possible
    - enjoy projects in all shapes and scales
    - curious about life

You will have the flexibility to explore areas of Denmark that you are interested in. We are very flexible around workaway days, so as an example if you would like to take a 5 day trip to Copenhagen and return after, we just plan the tasks around your schedule. 15 minutes drive from our house is the main train station from where you can reach all major cities in Denmark. 4 of us have drivers licenses, so there will also be someone around to drop you off there.

What we hope to get out of the experience is simply to get to know more about you, your culture and at the same time get some help.

The regular tasks includes the vegetable garden, taking care of the animals and tasks in the forrest. Additional to this we have a long list of projects we would like to get some more traction on.

Examples of projects we currently are starting:
    - new chicken coop
    - new wooden terrace
    - greenhouse

It would be great to have a couple or two friends visiting us.

    Accommodation

We have an extra apartment available where there is plenty of room for you. We normally use it for rental, but we take it off the platform in the periods where we have people coming to stay. The apartment is large enough to accommodate a small family with a bedroom, a room with couch, TV corner and dinner table, a small kitchen and bathroom with shower. The apartment is in one of our extra buildings and you will have it all to yourself.

Pets are more than welcome. We have plenty ourselves. Only thing to be mindful of is that we do have chicken, ducks and geese and some dogs find it quite interesting to chase them, which is not ideal.
