    Description

Our property is a little lifestyle block situated on the hills above Dunedin, overlooking the harbor. We are incredibly lucky to have the land (isolated and yet within walking distance of the city) and would love to give other people the opportunity to experience living up here!

There are three of us living on the property at the moment; myself (Taarn), my father Bryan and my brother Ronan. We have goats, chickens, 3 cheeky cats and an elderly dog (all eagerly anticipating new friends!) I have traveled a bit through the Czech Republic volunteering through Workaway, so I quite like the idea of being able to return the favor!

At current the major project is planting a significant number of native trees to regenerate old farmland, but there are also a multitude of odd jobs (getting a veggie garden happy etc.)

Dunedin is a great wee city, with the added benefit of easily being able to get away to enjoy nature - and our place definitely allows for this! We are close to the signal hill lookout, with walking opportunities to Mt Cargill and Port Chalmers. We are 25 minutes walk from the bus, which allows for easy access to all that Dunedin has to offer (walks, cafes, galleries)

If you want space for pursuing a project we have plenty, with a decent workshop and supplies to support! (and space for painting, reading and many a great creative and/ or leisure activity! (also if you know a second language I am in pursuit of a second, along with broken German and french (barely present) and would welcome any interest in that area!)

It is a pretty special spot, with views that offer an abundance of nature and water - it is one of a kind and the experience of living here stays with you! We are New Zealanders and can offer much in the way of staying with a family - one always based in Dunedin, NZ. We can show you the city, the walks - cook what little NZ culture has to offer in the way of local cuisine!

As mentioned above, our main project is the planting of 2,500 native trees over june/july. As we are situated on the top of a hill, the elements definitely fight back in this regard but we are working on! We have cleared the land for planting and would love any help or support people wish to offer to the project (as planting alone becomes a huge task!)
