  We are a middle-aged couple, I retired this year and my husband is still working. Our five children are spread out all over the world and come home occasionally. Two years ago I injured my knee and as I have a big garden with vegetables and fruit trees I'm a bit behind on my gardening.
  We are used to having a lot of young people at home. My husband is Austrian so at home we speak French as well as German. We have always enjoyed welcoming foreign friends from our children and like to learn more about different cultures and share about ours.
  Our home is very environmentally-friendly as for us taking care of our planet is a value that we have always both shared.
  
  Nous sommes un couple de 65 ans, je suis retraitée mon mari encore en activité, nos 5 enfants sont éparpillés un peu partout mais nous rendent visite de temps en temps. Il y a un an, je me suis blessée au genou et comme j'ai un grand jardin (potager, arbres fruitiers, jardin de fruits rouges, petit poulailler) je suis très en retard dans mon travail.
  Mon mari est autrichien donc nous parlons à la maison et allemand et français. Nous avons toujours aimé recevoir les amis de nos enfants et rencontrer des gens de différentes cultures. Nous vivons dans une maison que nous avons construite nous même selon les principes de l'habita bio-climatique.

  My husband and I both used to be French teachers abroad, so we'd be happy to help anyone with their French.
  Our experience in environmentally friendly building (we built our house on our own) is something we would be happy to share as well as permaculture in the garden.
  Mon mari et moi avons enseigné les langues dans notre jeunesse à l'étranger, nous serons donc heureux de vous aider à pratiquer votre français. C'est avec plaisir que nous transmettrons nos connaissances sur l'écohabitat et la permaculture.

  Help

  As I said we have a big garden so there is always something to do: plant things, prepare the ground, weeding, collecting the fruits and vegetables, make fences, trim the trees...
  Some help in the house and with the cooking is always nice as we will probably prepare the meals together anyway. We are mostly vegetarian and I love cooking and prepare new recipes.
  Notre jardin est grand et les travaux de printemps m'attendent: préparer le potager, tailler quelques buissons, nettoyer les plates bandes, préparer les semis, préparer un enclos en prévision d'un nouvel espace pour nos poules. Nous préparerons les repas ensemble, j'aime beaucoup cuisiner, nous sommes pratiquement végétariens et ouverts à de nouvelles recettes.

  Accommodation

  You would have your own bedroom with double bed and a semi-private bathroom. As our house is environmentally friendly, we have dry toilets.
  Vous disposerez d'une chambre double et d'une salle de bains , notre maison étant écologique, nous avons des toilettes sèches.

  What else ...

  We live in a small village that is only 15min away by car from Poitiers, a beautiful medieval roman art town. There are the beautiful Loire Castles to visit about one hour away.
  Nous vivons dans un hameau en pleine forêt à 15 mn de Poitiers en voiture, Poitiers est une magnifique petite ville étudiante, (joyau de l'art roman) les châteaux de la Loire sont à une bonne heure de route de chez nous.
