Description
I am the owner of a sustainable house in a beautifull wild valley in Almeria, Andalucia, Spain.
The next Village Lucainena de las Torres is 6km away and you can walk or Cycle there using the Via Verde- the old mining train line, that got converted into a walking path in 2015
The house is functioning 100% on solar energy and has its own well.
I did run the house for 22 years as a retreat,now it is for sale.
While waiting for a buyer,
friends and volunteers come and go,staying for weeks or month.
and we share the house living as a comunity
The house is situated in a semi desert area
where in former times many spaghetti western
- Sergio Leone -got produced.
and lately the game of thrones...
i am looking for helpers all year
to help with everything in the house
mainly rough garden tasks,woodpainting,
water deposit cleaning,general maintanance
I am very happy to have couples
but of course single travellers are wellcome too
spoken languages Spanish,German and English.
THERE is LIMITED INTERNET IN THE HOUSE DUE TO NO LANDLINE AND THE VIRGIN VALLEY With NO MOBILE PHONE CONECTION -HOTSPOT WORKS ON THE PROPERTY. AND IT IS ONLY A 5 MINUTES WALKING TO FULL RECEIPTION IN THE NEIGHBOUR VALLEY
There are millions of stars,imense silence to listen to
and a good library
Volunteers are expected to help with the comunal living tasks
which are cooking,washing dishes after meals,
clean their bathrooms,etc
volunteers can use the yogaroom anytime it is available
and if you like to we can share some budhist mindfulnes tecniques
created by Thich Nath Hahn.
I am happy to host easy going,flexible volunteers of all ages
with an interest in healthy happy life...
who do not need daily internet,
can enjoy silence,
are willing to work hard,
and do need time on their own,
enjoy an ocasional beer or wine
but do NOT TAKE ANY OTHER DRUGS....

my professional backround is hotel buisiness.
since 39 years and i am registered as a trainee in germany.
I offer volunteers the possibility to learn and practice at our house.
There is big need for general maintenance
like wood painting,wood cuting,light building,
water pumping, looking after the solar system.
During the summer month July to September it is too hot for garden work
except a little bit of watering.
But the rest of the year helpers are needed for weeding,path building,clearing spaces etc.
exchange 5 days 4 hours for full board and room plus aprox 1 hour for comunal tasks Cooking,cleaning,dishwashing
Minimum stay 2-3 weeks depending on season
longer stays are possible
during your stay we share all tasks
usualy there will be a breakfast buffet for all of us
the spanish habit is a second tea break at about 11h
and we do love this habit.
at lunchtime i always cook a big meal
and one of the volunteers helps me with that
at night you self cater,or we go out
and sometimes me or one of the others living here
will cook again
depending on weather and the general flow of things...
all housework,washing up
sweeping,moping,cleaning toilets
will be shared between everybody staying in the house.
We are pretty healthy living,
vegetarians and vegans are welcome,
small amounts of alcohol are served with the meals-it is Spain!
-but no other drugs shall be consumed
The house closes in January/Febuary
weather can be lousy - even in spain
so its travelling time for the people living here
