Description
Welcome home to an olive grove and permaculture project located outside of Marrakech Morocco, We have a small animal sanctuary, on-going artist residency and occasional yoga retreats.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Volunteers will be working both independantly and alongside the owners and/or our small team of local Moroccans. Volunteers will learn about the challenging climate and semi-arid conditions of Morocco in relation to permaculture methods through our efforts to practice more efficient and holistic living.
Help
Volunteers should be experienced in gardening, have some knowledge of permaculture and be environmentally cognizant. We are also looking for people who are creative and have some basic carpentry and/or landscaping skills for various projects around the property.

Accommodation
Volunteers either stay in our large shared berber tent with 4 full-size beds, electricity, and shared bathroom/shower, or in a private room with bathroom, depending on space available. All volunteers have access to a communal kitchen and living space.

I stayed for 3 weeks and had a lovely experience . It's an oasis of peace and natural farming methods. I done some gardening and helping prepare the beds for vegetables . If you are looking for a really quiet organic project,this is for you!

I stayed at Sanctuary for about 5 weeks. Aziz has been cultivating and tending this property for over 20 years, where there was previously only a few trees. Now, it's abundant with dozens of species of trees, shrubs, plants and animals—a real sanctuary for life in contrast to the surrounding semi-desert area.

Foti is very attentive and works hard. He does not need to be micro managed and makes things smooth and easy.
He spent time on various tasks such as pruning, planting, making compost, weeding, creating raised beds...
An avid learner, he is proactive, curious and does not like to leave a job unfinished.

This was our first workaway experience and it exceeded our expectations. This is a special place with a strong vision for replication in all parts of the world. Animal Sanctuary, if you understand the concept you will understand whick kind of people are behind this project.
Aziz and Rachel are awesome, the made this little paradise in the middle of Morocco based on phermaculture and animal respect.
