    Description

I live on the beautiful south coast of NSW at Sussex Inlet. Our house is right on the water meaning you will have access to our jetty and warf, can use our kayaks and watch the amazing wildlife. If you love fishing you can do that too. I work 3 days per week so you will be minding our beautiful greyhound Buddy. He is super friendly and easy going. I might also need you to mind him on the weekend when I visit my grandchildren in Sydney. He is so gentle and sleeps about 22 hours per day. Whilst staying here in will be mainly myself around as my husband often works in Sydney and comes to Sussex on the weekend. From a cultural exchange point of view you will have the opportunity to experience the peaceful lifestyle of a small coastal town, experience nature with amazing birdlife, fish and sea life as well as kangaroos in and around our yard. I love learning a new language and would be happy to learn yours as well as help you with your English. I love cooking and will be delighted to share meals with you but if you have any specialities or home grown food ideas from your country I would love to try them too. You will have plenty of time to do your own thing as well as being part of our family. I also run the local community centre and would be more than happy to show you some of our community projects we are working on. If you are here during the June long weekend Sussex hosts a viking festival which is great fun. We also have regular music events.

Firstly you'll be taking buddy for his morning 20 minute walk at around 8am followed by giving him his breakfast. Then once or twice during the day he needs a 5 minute walk. He really doesn't like being alone and can suffer separation anxiety, meaning he just loves knowing that you are around. He sleeps in a crate of a night but he chooses to go int it. Its his safe space. I'll be home the rest of the time sharing his care except on the weekends I travel to Sydney to mind my grandchildren or the occasional grand child visit to Canberra. Sometimes it would be lovely if you could cook us (myself or perhaps my husband too) a meal and eat with us as well as sharing what we cook for you.

    Buddy (5 years)

Buddy is a very placid, people loving greyhound. He sleeps about 23 hours a day. Overnight he sleeps in his crate which he happily walks into himself. He is great with children and other dogs. We walk him in the morning and evening and occasionally throughout the day but the walks are quite short.
