    Description

Hi fellow exploreres, I'm Marco an engineer, tinkerer, outdoors enthusiast and lover of new cultures and experiences who’s keen to meet people and support them exploring NZ. I live with 2 other working professional guys in my home in red beach and we’d be happy to host some people on their travels and make new friends from around the world.

We live in a stunning part of the country close to some of the best beaches in Auckland, it’s a paradise for those who like beaches, nature, forests, island exploring, chill vibes and cute cafes and restaurants. There is bus and ferry transport available to central Auckland and you can use public transport to get to some beautiful places like Shakespeare regional park where you might see some Kiwi birds in the wild. I’m less than 10minutes walk to the main shopping mall and only a 2 minute drive to the main Orewa beach and town centre. Public transport can get you most places here and I also have a spare bicycle that can be used.

    Interests
Between us in the house we like, surfing, kayaking, hiking, exploring, gaming, languages, dancing (salsa/bachata), DIY, relaxing, swimming and COFFEE!! We’re an accepting bunch and welcoming of everyone regardless of culture, persuasion, or any proclivities. Our perspective is as long as you’re considerate, kind and clean you’re one of us! Hopefully we’ll also be able to get you out and share our hobbies with you in our stunning country.

    The House
We have a 5 bedroom house, with a large living area, you’ll have plenty of space to find your own spot to relax in if you want. The kitchen is shared by the 3 of use living here, but you’ll have access to the full kitchen as you need and we’re all just considerate about each others needs. We have a massive garden space, with a little fire pit, lots of fruit trees and roses with a big covered deck to sit and enjoy the rain or the sunshine with a coffee or wine.

Capacity: 1-4 people, if it’s more than 2 people we’ll have to discuss it at the time to make it work.
    Your Room:
There is a large room upstairs I’m renovating, it is warm dry and comfortable, but its not finished yet. I’ll provide a bed be it 2 singles or a queen bed and you’ll have access to everything you need, it just won’t be total luxury.

Limitations: no smoking or vaping on site. Diet wise I empathise for those who have specific needs and I’ll try accommodating but I’m not able to guarantee providing everything a specialty diet might require, however you’re welcome to use the kitchen to cook specialty meals outside what I can provide.

I'm keen to host as this is something i wish i had done when travelling. depending on our schedules we'd happily take you out and about in nature when we're free too. I hope you get a bit of satisfaction in being productive on some small projects around the house and more importantly get to see the real NZ

You will learn about general DIY and house maintenance from me as I love tinkering and looking after the house, learn about the nature in the area from us and you should have plenty of spare time to enjoy it with our recommendations and support.
