Description
We are a family composed of a mother (retired teacher) and son (English teayvcher). We live in Terracina, a beautiful coastal town conveniently located halfway between Rome and Naples. Our home is in a strategic position for anyone looking to combine relaxation, nature, and culture.
During the summer we have some paying guests. Sometimes in Autumn at the week end. But the volonteer won't be involved in this activity . The garden is for the family.
The surrounding area is stunning:
Sea & History in Terracina: Wide sandy beaches, the impressive Temple of Jupiter overlooking the town, and a charming medieval historic center.
Nature & Hiking: We are right next to the Circeo National Park, perfect for hikes and walks with breathtaking sea views.
Picturesque Villages: Picturesque coastal towns like Sperlonga and Gaeta, famous for their whitewashed alleys and dramatic cliffs, are just a short trip away.
Pontine Islands: Easy day trips to the islands of Ponza and Ventotene depart directly from the port of Terracina.
Great Connections: Easy train access makes day trips to both Rome and Naples very simple.
We speak fluent Italian and English, making this an ideal place whether you want to practice your English or improve your Italian in a warm, welcoming family environment. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Staying with us offers a rich and authentic Italian cultural experience in a relaxed, friendly household:
Language Practice: Since I am a retired teacher and my son is an English teacher, our home is a warm, intellectually engaging environment. We speak both Italian and fluent English, making this an excellent place whether you want to immerse yourself in learning/improving Italian or comfortably converse in English.
Italian Hospitality & Life by the Sea: You will experience the genuine rhythm of life in a coastal Italian town—from enjoying local food and espresso to taking relaxing walks along the beach in Terracina.
Local Knowledge & Exploring: We love sharing insider tips on our region! We can point you toward the best hidden spots in Terracina, local hiking trails in Circeo National Park, day trips to the Pontine Islands (Ponza & Ventotene), and easy connections to historic sites in Rome and Naples.
Shared Experiences: While some meals are self-service, we look forward to sharing meals and stories, exchanging perspectives on travel, teaching, and different cultures around the table. -

Help
Help with gardening & tree pruning near the beach (between Rome & Naples)
The Help we're looking for:
In October, we need some practical help tidying up and clearing space in the garden before winter. The main tasks will include:
Garden Clearance: Removing dead or overgrown bushes and weeding.
Pruning: Trimming low branches and small trees to open up space.
Gathering Waste: Collecting branches and organizing green waste.
We ask for about 4–5 hours of help per day, 5 days a week.
You don't need to be a professional gardener, but good physical shape, comfort with basic manual tools, and a love for working outdoors are required. -
