    Description

    Hello travelers!
My son and I moved to a large home and now I can easily welcome you to our lovely spot we call Hemma.

I am hoping to have some general mostly outdoor help on my small acreage in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver island. I have large flower garden and hope to plant more trees and plants as well as maintaining. I need advise from someone who has keen interest in small hobby farming and landscaping. We have a crazy dog and a young duck who will keep you entertained along with our 4 white doves. You will have access to our outdoor pool and spa tub. Best location as you are in the peaceful countryside but still walking distance to shops, restaurants and buses. We provide you your own room and separate bath and will be fed very well! We welcome you Hemma!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are travelers ourselves and we love to learn about others history, cultures and foods etc.
I love the area we live in now called the Cowichan Valley. The town is close and has a market each Saturday as well with local products featured. There is hiking, beaches and stunning views from all around the valley. Cowichan valley is known for its bounty of fruits and veg. Victoria is one hour south and has many different events at all times of year, it is a touristic city.

Our travels throughout the years has cultivated a love for different foods and techniques of preparing very wide range of tastes for many palates from Vegan to Meat and Potatoes. We eat a typical Mediterranean diet with veg and fruits and meats of the season. We will be happy to provide our guest with new tastes from Portuguese, Spanish, Italian to middle eastern dishes, as well as introducing you to the Canadian culture of warm hospitality. If you enjoy sharing recipes and or learning to cook, I’ll be happy to teach you what I know. Exploring Local wineries and breweries, visiting local farm stands cooking fresh unprocessed foods, it’s what we love.
