    Description

We are a family from Belgium who moved in September to the stunning region of Kleena Kleene, British Columbia, with our two children: Leïla (4 years old) and Noah (10 years old). Our property is beautifully situated along a river, with mountains nearby and surrounded by breathtaking nature. There are plenty of trails, lakes for swimming, fishing, and light surfing, and the river is just next to us. You should also know that we are in the middle of nature—the nearest town is a 2.5-hour drive away. The idea here is to fully disconnect and recharge.

Here, we are building our dream of a micro-organic farm, aiming to achieve a lifestyle that is as self-sufficient as possible. This is a private family project—we do everything just for ourselves, on a very small scale, without stress, simply for the joy and satisfaction of producing our own food. Since the nearest town is far away, we truly appreciate having homemade food.

We don’t sell products, we only produce small amounts of cheese, butter, and other homemade goods for our own consumption. We also have a small single field dedicated to growing hay, just enough for our animals.

Our little farm is home to:

3 adorable dogs: Lindsy, Rix, and BG.

3 affectionate cats: Jazzy, Wizzy, and Bluey.

3 pregnant goats: Cali, Fully, and Chiara, who are expecting their babies at the end of April.

15 hens and 2 roosters, providing us with fresh eggs.

We also cultivate a large vegetable garden, maintain a greenhouse, and work towards growing more of our own food. In the spring, we will welcome cows and ducks to join our little farm!

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Internet is available on our property, but there is no phone network. We live in a fairly isolated region, but our neighbors are very welcoming and enjoy meeting new people. It’s a great opportunity to experience a rural lifestyle connected to nature.

We are happy to share our knowledge in animal care, gardening, greenhouse and field maintenance, dairy production, woodworking, and using various tools and equipment.

We can also help you practice or learn French, English, or Dutch. We love exchanging with others and introducing them to our self-sufficient and nature-connected way of life. If you are curious to learn new skills or enjoy cultural exchange, this is the perfect place for you!

We love human connection, sharing, and bringing more life to the property. Welcoming someone is, above all, an opportunity to exchange and enjoy great moments together.

Our small farm project is on a family scale, just for us, without pressure and not every day. We take care of goats, chickens, and soon cows and ducks, and we enjoy making our own dairy products like cheese, yogurt, and butter. We also have a large vegetable garden, a greenhouse, and a small field to grow hay for our animals. There is always something to keep busy with, whether it’s in the garden, with the animals, or by sharing activities with the children.

My partner is very skilled and enjoys building and repairing things. If you’re interested in learning DIY or construction skills, he would be happy to share his knowledge!

If you love nature, animals, and a peaceful, self-sufficient lifestyle, this could be a wonderful experience to share.
