Description
Cat sitter requested from about 16 May to 3rd June 2026
---
Hi everybody! I'm 65 ,and I live in a beautiful town in the North of Italy (Padova), I work many hours a day and I need help taking care of my cat when I leave for a short holiday.
I speak English, French and German, and I'm studying Chinese, Spanish and Russian. I once played the piano but I have since forgotten; if my cat sitter can play, I would enjoy listening to him/her playing. I have a lovely white cat whose name is Meringa. I adopted her about one month after my beloved cat Pilù suddently passed away in November.
Looking for one non smoking person (i'm strongly allergic), no drugs or alcohol, no digital nomads, no people with health problems that would compromise our schedule.
I'm looking for a serious, clean, trustworthy person interested in art and in visiting museums, near cities, a person who likes exploring and discovering a new culture.
I offer accommodation, private bedroom and private bathroom but no food. What I ask is that you feed Meringa twice a day and spend some time during the day with her as well as the night at home (no friends are allowed) so that she doesn't feel alone.
I have already hosted a very nice and polite girl from Canada (10 days), a very friendly woman from China (3 weeks), a French woman (two weeks), I have hosted both adults and young women, age doesn’t matter. I hosted a young German girl as well as a very kind German lady who was my age.
I have only ever had one very bad experience, and I'm sure it won't happen again!
I'd like to meet somebody from north Europe.
I usually ask my cat sitters to be here on Saturday or Friday of the week before I leave so we have time to spend together. If you like to take italian classes during your staying there's a good language school that u can easily reach by bus (or by bicycle), from my house 5 bus stops, direct bus line.
If you come by car there's free parking near home.
If you like sports a sporting centre with also an Olympic swimming pool is at 200 mt from my house
About Padova: The town is a UNESCO city, so perfect for art and history lovers, 20 minutes by train to Venice and no more than one hour to Vicenza, Verona, Treviso, Vicenza, Bassano del Grappa and Bologna.

What else ...
I live near the centre of Padova that can be reached by bus in 3 stops, there's a supermarket at about 300 mt and a park near home. Moreover, at about 200 Mt from home there's a sporting centre with swimming pool (and park during summer) , tennis and paddle courts and gym.
There's an other park at about 10 min from home with tennis cours, archery, football, mini football, skating, basket and volley-ball.

I invited Leanne into my home to take care of my cat, my plants, and my apartment. My house rules were simple : no eating in the room, don’t keep electricity on when not using it, turn on the burglar alarm when leaving,… read more
I was invited by Isabella, an active, busy, highly educated and polyglot Italian who is very interested in communicating the country and people, culture and language of her home country and the city of Padua.… read more

I was lucky enough to cross paths with them and share a little piece of life together.
Isabella took me to see some beautiful places in Padova, as if I had my own private tour guide — except it was even better than that!
She introduced me to a fantastic gelateria, and most importantly, to her friends,… read more
