    Description

    To all the adventurous travelers!
You are welcome to help prepare the good ship in Halifax to explore the maritime islands this summer aboard the Chinese Junk.

About the Chinese steel sailing Junk:
    Length: 15m
    Draft: 2m
    Mast Height: 38 ft
    Powered by Perkins
    Rig: Chinese balanced lug sail
    Berths: 8
    Home port: Victoria,B.C.,Canada
    Departed first circumnavigation:1991

The international sail training vessel allows people of any age from all walks of life the experience of being at sea regardless of their financial situation. While learning seamanship, fishing, carpentry and many more we are going to explore the beautiful landscape of Nova Scotia.

There is a great variety of daily duties on board. Besides cooking and cleaning, refitting the boat (which includes painting, preparing and replacing sails, general maintenance, fishing, etc.).
Prepare for an off-grid lifestyle since we only go ashore every other day mainly to get supplies or to visit one of the local parties at Fisherman's Cove (usually every 3-4 days) although many workawayers show great talent handling the dinghy and paying McNab's Island or the main land a visit.

THE MISSION is to get the boat ready to continue the second circumnavigation voyage as an international sail-training vessel.

Therefore I am looking for help with basic live-aboard duties, fishing, shopping and cooking. Workawayers with special talents or abilities are encouraged to participate in art projects, basic welding, electric, carpentry, interior decor or computer help (to market my book "No Fixed Address" the true story of the first 17 years exploring the planet's oceans and countries with the junk' on her first circumnavigation).
