Hello workawayers, from September we are looking for metal workers, welders and general help on board
The international sail training vessel allows people of any age from all walks of life the experience of being at sea regardless of their financial situation. While learning seamanship, fishing, carpentry and many more we are going to explore the beautiful landscape of Nova Scotia.
There is a great variety of daily duties on board. Besides cooking and cleaning, refitting the boat (which includes painting, preparing and replacing sails, general maintenance, fishing.
At the moment we are located in Mahone bay, on the hard, working on a refit. Because of this, we are particularly interested in anyone with experience in welding and general maintenance.Types of help and learning opportunities

Travelers with a will can learn all aspects relating to preparing a vessel for sea including sailing skills, knots, fishing and dinghy driving, etc.

THE MISSION is to get the boat ready to continue the second circumnavigation voyage as an international sail-training vessel.
Therefore I am looking for help with basic live-aboard duties, fishing, shopping and cooking. Workawayers with special talents or abilities are encouraged to participate in art projects, basic welding, electric, carpentry, interior decor or computer help (to market my book, the true story of the first 17 years exploring the planet's oceans and countries with the junk' on her first circumnavigation).Languages spoken

Accommodation
There are 2 doubles and 3 singles bunks, a common area with a table and the 'library', and a galley/dining area.
Every Workawayer will be provided with 3 meals a day and a comfortable bunk.
There is a good oil heater aboard for or the chilly winter days.What else ...
Bridgewater in the Lunenburg county. Lunenburg is a UNESCO Heritage site, so travellers will find many beautiful sights, galleries, museums and other attractions to enjoy in the spare time.

I met Clive through workaway in Campbell River/BC/CA as he was handling repair of his friend Jim's boat and his boat, it was in Panama. I was there a week doing handyman work: moving stuff, painting, drilling, ... Sadly, as there was also craftman's work pending which were delayed from 2-3d to a week, we hadn't oppurtunity to do any… read more
