    Description

I am 53 years old and live with my lovely daughter Alannah who is 16 years old. We live in a picturesque village of Goleen, which is next to the sea in Ireland’s most south westerly point.
Our family are part of the fabric of Goleen village as we run one of the bars in the village and it’s truly a centre of the social fabric in the village. Big days hosted by the bar, include everything local Gaelic football match celebrations to the weekly card’s nights. We have a games room in the bar and people also come here to get petrol and diesel.
Located near 5 beaches, and next to the site where Marconi transmitted his first transatlantic radio transmission to the US and George Lucas filmed Star Wars The Last Jedi, it’s a special and breathtakingly beautiful part of the world.
The beauty of Goleen is that while it is a small village, the area has 250 people, people include you into the parish, and you’ll find yourself being involved in local activities such as meals on wheels, soccer with Mizen AFC or Gaelic Football with Goleen GAA, or the many Goleen Community Council endeavours, should you have the interest to take part.
The reason I would like to host workaways, is because I believe that I can offer a unique experience for workawayers, in a warm village environment, and you would be part of our community. From my part I need help with simple day-to-day activities and tasks that I simply have difficulty in finding time for. I think that your simple help for me, could be life saving for me and my family.

It's an amazing environment. Hiking and surfing on your doorstep. Getting involved in sport is a real and valuable option. There is a lot of fishing and farming locally, and if there is a big interest, we can introduce that to you.
