We are a permaculture community with over 30 years of history, located in the Chapada Diamantina region, 7 km from Vale do Capão. Our activities include agroforestry, natural building, reforestation, environmental protection, vegetable gardening, herb cultivation, and artisanal soap making, among others. We follow an ovo-lacto-vegetarian diet, and all meals are cooked in a wood-fired oven. We welcome visitors and volunteers, and we also host courses.
Our volunteer program is not a standard work-exchange arrangement. Here, volunteers experience life within a community. Residents share their permaculture knowledge as we work together from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. During the rest of the day, volunteers can join discussion circles and learn more about our lifestyle. Saturdays and Sundays are free, allowing volunteers to discover and explore our beautiful region.
The ideal duration for the volunteer experience is at least 14 days, though we can accommodate volunteers for diferent periods depending on the specific arrangement. As we are a non-profit project, we ask for a contribution of R$50.00 per day to help cover food costs.
We provide accommodation with single beds in shared quarters. The main lodging features solar power and a gas-heated shower. We also provide a designated area for Wi-Fi access when needed

Somos uma comunidade permacultural com mais de 30 anos localizada na Chapada Diamantina a 7km do Vale do Capão. Desenvolvemos atividades como Agrofloresta, bioconstrução, reflorestamento, proteção ambiental, horta, herbário, sabonetes artesanais, dentre outras. Nossa dieta é ovo lacto vegetariana e as refeições são sempre feitas em forno a lenha. Recebemos visitantes, voluntários e também realizamos cursos.
Nosso voluntariado não é uma experiência de troca de trabalho por hospedagem (workexchange) padrão. Aqui, os voluntários terão uma experiência de vida comunitária. As pessoas moradoras compartilham de seus conhecimentos permaculturais enquanto trabalhamos todos juntos das 9h as 13h, de segunda a sexta. Nos outros períodos do dia, é possível participar de rodas de conversas e conhecer mais do nosso estilo de vida. Os sábados e domingos são livres para que os voluntários possam conhecer e explorar a nossa linda região .
A experiência ideal para o programa de voluntario é de no mínimo 14 dias, mas podemos recebê-los pelo tempo que tiver interesse a depender de cada proposta. Não somos um projeto com fins lucrativos, portanto, pedimos uma colaboração de R$50,00 por dia para ajudar a custear a alimentação.
Oferecemos acomodações com camas individuais em alojamentos coletivos. O alojamento principal conta com energia solar e aquecedor a gás para o chuveiro. Também disponibilizamos uma área específica para uso de Wi-Fi, quando necessário. -

What else ...
The community is next to the Chapada Diamantina National Park, so it is possible to access many waterfalls just by walking (Cachoeira da Fumaça, Águas Claras, Lago dos Patos, among others). The best access for the community is Vale do Capão. A bus from Salvador to Palmeiras and from Palmeiras to Vale do Capão. We have an internal library also available to everyone. In our free time we like to make a bonfire and play music.
A comunidade fica ao lado do parque Nacional da Chapada Diamantina, assim é possível acessar muitas cachoeiras apenas caminhando (Cachoeira da Fumaça, Águas Claras, Lago dos Patos, dentre outras). O melhor acesso para a comunidade é o Vale do Capão. Um ônibus de Salvador a Palmeiras e de Palmeiras ao Vale do Capão. Temos uma biblioteca interna também disponível a todos. Nos tempos livres gostamos de fazer fogueira e tocar música. -
