Gudni was the loveliest host ever! I stayed with him for two weeks and a half and I was helping at one of his daughters’ house just a couple of hours in the morning with their lovely children or with the cleaning; they are all very flexible, it was a light work and I had a lot of free time. The whole family was so welcoming and caring, I wish I

Stokkseyri is a lovely village on the coast and a 15min drive from Selfoss (one of the major cities in the island); from Gudni’s house you can go for a beautiful walk along the beach and spot seals too! Gudni is really kind and available to give you lifts to make you get a bus or travel around. His son was also really kind and drove me around to do some sightseeing. I enjoyed my time chatting and cooking with Gudni, I had so much fun! Thank you so much for hosting me and being so welcoming and kind to me, it was an amazing experience and my heart is filled with gratitude. I cannot wait to come back to Iceland and see you all again! Takk Fyrir and keep in touch! 🥰💙You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I spent 2 weeks with Gudni and it was a fantastic experience. I had a lot of free time and I really enjoyed discovering the surroundings and the south of Iceland. I do loved my stay here. Gudni is a fantastic host, and we saw a bunch of amazing places together. I felt like a part of the family. Thank you again for welcoming me, it was perfect :)

I stayed with Gudni’s daughter Kristina, her husband Aaron, and their 3 children for about 3 weeks in Stokkseyri. The house they stay in is right next to Gudni’s and I had a bedroom on the opposite side of the house separated by a hallway and door. I cooked and cleaned a few hours a day around lunch time Monday-Friday. They were easy going,

I learned something from everyone in the family. Overall, a great experience and I would’ve stayed with them longer if I didn’t already have a plane ticket home.
Let me know if you build a room for an au pair in Sweden! Would love to help out in your garden an upcoming summer 😄You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Céline was with us for 5 weeks and we really enjoyed her visiting us. She was very nice and helpful. She made lunch for us 5x/week and also helped with cleaning and watching the kids.
Céline is positive and ready to help with whatever you're in need of. My father was very happy with her! The kitchen was always clean at the end of the day. And

I stayed with "afi" for 5 weeks. I helped him and Kristina's familly (one of his daughters), mainly with the cooking. I used to prepare lunch for them from Monday to Friday. It was a light work and I had a lot of free time.

All the familly members l met were really kind to me and welcoming. Always ready to help and obvious care was taken with me feeling comfortable.
I enjoyed the conversations l had with afi, especially when l could asked questions about culture and the way of living in Iceland, as well as our trips to the coffee shop :)
They took me to the village outdoor swimming pool. l appreciated the contrast between hot water and the cold October weather. This, is a very good way to immerge yourself into the Icelandic way of living.
I went for a few day trips with Hanna (one of Kristina's sisters). She showed me around the region like a perfect guide.
During the time I spent by myself l used to go for walks on the beach close by. A very beautiful lava beach and out of the ordinary where l spotted a few seals.
Iceland is a peaceful and revitalising place so worthy of visiting. The nature is wild with so many different and mindblowing landscapes.
I really recommend to go and spend some times with this lovely familly.
I wish I will go back some day to meet them again and keep on exploring the parts I havent seen (like the Blue Lagoon! ;P)
Thank you for everything!
