    Description

Our project is a cocoa permaculture estate which aims to cultivate cocoa through a permaculture and syntropic agriculture framing method which is in harmony with the natural forest and habitat in which the estate is located.

Nestled in the untouched and virgin forests of the Madamas Rainforest located on the Northern Mountain Range of Trinidad and Tobago, it stands on 1 acre with cocoa trees, fruit trees and vegetable crops. The goal is to grow cocoa and other crops through methods which promote and sustain biodiversity and not to create an ecosystem which hampers it and the environment. Our place will become a model for other cocoa farmers in Trinidad and Tobago to demonstrate the utility of permaculture versus unsustainable agriculture and cocoa farming. Other beenfits of this system will include forest and wilderness therapy, carbon sequestration and community learning and collaboration. The Madamas/Blanchisseuse community is a farming and fishing community, an ideal hub for collaborative learning and development.
