    Description

This is our much loved family home. Situated 101km west of Sydney 1.7km into the bush North of the village of Leura in the magnificent Blue Mountains
We are open to any length of stay with the option to stay longer after 1 week if things work out.
Helping us for the equivalent of about 4-5 hours a day 5 days a week in whatever pattern is agreed on, in return for meals and accommodation
'About us: Damian, John, and Murphy the dog. We have hosted volunteers before and really enjoyed the experience. John and I are both fully vaccinated and expect you to be too and to have travel insurance. John speaks Italian, Greek, French and English fluently. He is great fun and semiretired.
I was born in Sydney where I grew up and obtained a degree in Agricultural science before exploring other careers. I travelled extensively and lived elsewhere before eventually settling here in the Blue Mountains.
I work a 38 hour week from my separate office in the back yard.
We both love to cook and welcome anyone who is interested, into our kitchen to showcase their talents, even if this is just helping set the table and wash up afterwards.
Murphy is our 11 year old Labrdoodle who is very friendly.
He is an inside dog who loves a walk in the morning and the evening and loves a game of chasings anywhere.
He loves people but can be a bit of a punk with other dogs. Occasionally he will lash out at them so beware when walking him. Usually, he is fine but we have been banned from the doggy park! .

I work from home during the week but would be available if needed. I may need help with jobs occasionally on weekend.
The train station and buses are nearby and make much of the blue mountains accessible.
Having your own transport would open up much more of this spectacular World Heritage National Park for your recreation.

The main thing is to relax and enjoy yourself when you are on your own time.
This has been a house of serenity, joy and healing for us. It will bestow its blessings on all who stay here. We ask in return that you treat it and us with the dignity, respect and love that you would have in your own home. A beautiful bush garden vista. Located 2.7km from the World Heritage Blue Mountains National Park on the ‘sunny side of the hill’ north of Leura with its sophisticated restaurants, cafes and boutiques, Waratah is the ideal retreat for those seeking peace and quiet or a bit of adventure Enjoy a drink and BBQ on the back deck after a bush walk or sip a cup of coffee in the morning whilst watching the abundant array of birdlife. Popular with bushwalkers, rock climbers and canyoners, Mount Hay Rd is ‘a road less travelled’ when compared with the better known south side of the mountain. It offers an unsealed road with abundant walking trails, bike trails, and wildflowers ending with breath taking views from Mount Hay itself across to the highest peak of Mount Banks and down to the magnificent Grose River Valley and wilderness. Come and explore our side of the Mountain

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are a gay couple who have happily been together for 30 years.
We are on the doorstep of the Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park and all the beauty, bushwalks, rock climbing, swimming and adventures associated.
Leura, it's cafes and train station are a 20min walk away. train to from Sydney and the rest of the mountains are easy. Regular busses work well in the area too.
A car is not essential but would open up a lot more access in the area for you as well.
There is roos to park it here.
