We're an English family who moved to rural Puglia from London to try a different way of life. We need help from couples (sorry families) in the autumn with our olive harvest and then again in the spring with general land management and buildings maintenance.
Claire & Andy met at London Zoo and bought a dilapidated old farm in 2004 which we've renovated and converted into a self-contained holiday villa and living accommodation for us. It's set in 5 acres of land planted mainly with olive and almond trees. We have a vegetable garden and keep chickens, and we also have three dogs and a cat as well as three children aged between 12 and 7.
We've made a commitment to farm the land organically, as well as installing solar hot water panels, using wood in our heating system and collecting rainwater to fill our cistern.
We host couples aged 25+.
Experience animal husbandry, organic gardening, the permaculture approach and seasonal living in undiscovered Puglia.
In November and December we need help with the olive harvest, tree pruning, house painting, wall building and general land and property maintenance.
Between February and May we need help with tree pruning, gardening, painting, wall building, paving and general land and property maintenance.
Private accommodation with two double bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, kitchen & living room. TV + dvd player & lots of films, Xbox 360 with games, wifi. Food provided.
