    Description

From June 28th to July 6th!

House-sitting opportunity! We are currently looking for someone to look after our animals (except Sally) and our veggie garden while staying at our house and enjoying our outdoor swimming pool.

    ¡Hola Workawayers!

We moved to paradise (= Galicia) last summer to settle here, found our little spot on earth, and started working on it in March 2026. Our (so far) little red house has 2 bedrooms upstairs and, downstairs, a living room, a kitchen, and a little office. We’re in the process of refurbishing the house and bringing the surrounding garden and land back to life. There is also a piece of land where we have set up a veggie garden (kind of an experiment this first year) and a chicken coop (it's nearly finished, so our 3 hens can move in).

We are both self-employed (as a translator and an engineer in renewable energy), working in the morning when our children are at the nearby Waldorf school, and then moving on to tasks around the house and garden in the afternoon. We love a good chat, have travelled a fair bit around the world, and have lived in different corners of it. Our two boys (ages 5 and 8) love playing outside and exploring the area on their bikes.

We need you to help us around the garden and land, and with two kittens that we will adopt in June. They will still be quite tiny by then, so it's a question of letting them settle in the family smoothly. In summer, it might happen that your stay falls during our absence, as we'll have to travel sometime in July or August to visit our families. Then we would appreciate a house-sitting arrangement to look after the cats, the chicken, and the veggies.

There is also Sally, our puppy, who joined us recently and is just delightful, but we'd rather bring her along when travelling, as we usually move around in our van.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER: A private room upstairs and three meals a day, if you'd like to join our family meals. They can either be traditional Spanish (prepared by Nacho) or vegetarian. We can also provide bikes (or even a car) for shopping or discovering the beautiful surroundings.

WHAT WE NEED: Help in the garden and around the house. I'd rather enjoy some free time with my children if you can help me with some daily tasks. Based on your profile and expectations, we can discuss this upfront and work out an arrangement we're all happy with.

Although we’re new to Workaway (we’ve hosted once before in our cave house in southern Spain, though not through this platform), we’re experienced couchsurfers and passionate travellers. We speak several languages and truly enjoy connecting with people, exchanging ideas, and learning from different perspectives. If you’re interested, please tell us about yourself and your availability. Let's love to arrange a video call to get to know each other and see if our ideas for co-living align.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Magda and Nacho
