We had a lovely time housesitting for Donna and family while they were on vacation! The house is gorgeous and we had some relatively easy yard work to do as well as taking care of the kitties. Donna is very communicative and generous, and we were allowed to eat what we wanted and use the kitchen.
One thing to note for travelers is that if you
… read more don't have a vehicle it may be difficult to get around during free time. The nearest grocery store is a 30 minute walk and it takes about an hour and a half by bus to get into the city. That being said, you will definitely enjoy your stay here like we did :)

This was my first experience with work-away. I only spent 5 days with this friendly family.
I helped them in the garden during the morning, and taking into consideration it was my first time weeding, they were very patient with me.
Overall I feel lucky I had such a good first experience with them! They are lovely! we went bouldering together and

Katie was a joy to have as part of our family. She was very hard-working and did not give up. She keeps smiling and was a real help with gardening painting and house work. We would have her back any time :-)

Despite only staying with the Jardens for one week, I had the most amazing time!! I was welcomed not in a house, but a home and instantly felt like part of the family. They always made sure I was happy and comfortable and took me to many different (cultural) events. I helped with gardening, cleaning and some overall chores, which all were quickly&
