Description
Hi Cool Travellers,
We are located in Juara Village Tioman Island Malaysia. We are building a surf shop by the beach and a camp site in the jungle by the river.
We are running a surfing school. We want to build the facilities for our surfing training ground.
Surfing season is from November to March. During flat season we organise water confidence training such as open water swimming course, recreational skin diving or freediving exercise and stand up paddle boarding around the bay.
Once in awhile we bring our guest to waterfall jungle trekking, hiking to summit view and camping at private beach or in the jungle.
At the campsite we are going to clear the area from the bushes for our site. Then build some platforms and shades from bamboo for our tents.
We want to construct our toilet and bathroom from bamboo as well. The bamboo need to be treated before we use for our construction. The bamboo we will harvest from the jungle.
At this moment we have 3 paid permanent locally in house general worker and 4 paid locally part timers.
Our permanent general worker help us preparing the surf shop and help us clear the area for our campsite. They pretty much help us around with everything.
Our local part timers helps us to drive the boat and tour guide around the island.

We will take our volunteers to our chill house. Here we will introduce the volunteers to some other locals friends that we hang out pretty much everyday. They’re cool people. You’re gonna love them.
Most of them are surfers, boat captain, diving instructors and local tour guide.
Our volunteers can learn a lot of knowledge from them about the ocean, jungle, local culture, our island language and even sometimes cooking and eating together.
Help
We greatly appreciated any cool travellers with kind heart, honest and have strength to help us in preparing our Surf Shop to be ready such as a little bit of simple construction, painting work, decorations and planting some garden plants.
We are looking for any volunteers that have experienced in bamboo construction. We need their help to build some simple platforms and shades from bamboo to place our tents on it.
At the same time we would like to organize community project for the local kids on the island such as learning foreign language by playing some games with them. Our volunteer is required to join this project once a week to teach their own language to the local kids.

Accommodation
At this moment we will give a bed in a dorm. When the campsite is ready, our volunteers need to move out to stay in a campsite.
Our campsite is in a jungle by the river without electricity. The campsite is 15mins walking distance from the beach.
The volunteer must be mindful to walk back and forth from the jungle to the beach whenever they need to go to do some work at our Surf Shop by the beach or they need to charge their phone or get some internet.
We only take solo travellers. At this moment we are not be able to accommodate any couples.
No food will be provided in exchange of working only 3 hours in 5 days. Minimum stay is 1 month. You can eat whatever we will grow around the campsite in near future.

What else ...
In our village Juara Tioman Island, you can do watersport activities such as snorkelling, skindiving, scuba diving, stand up paddle board, kayaking, boat trip around the island, swim at the lagoon and surfing whenever there is wave.
You can jungle trekking to waterfall and hiking to summit view. Once in awhile we can go camping in the mountain or private bay whenever we have time.
Here in our village we have turtle sanctuary which you can go there and help them to release some baby turtles to the ocean.
Apart of that, this island is so beautiful with a good vibes and positive great feeling. You can come out with your own activities such as yoga, workout training or just chilling by the beach or in the jungle.
We bet you gonna love it here and very hard for you to leave the island.
