Description
**About Us**
Hey travelers!
We’re based in Juara Village on Tioman Island, Malaysia—home to one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches in Southeast Asia, far from the crowds.
We’re currently restoring a traditional villager’s house and turning it into a creative arts and culture space where locals and travelers can connect, create, and share experiences.
---
**Help Needed**
We’re looking for enthusiastic, easygoing volunteers who enjoy a mix of creativity and hands-on work. You don’t need to be an expert—just willing to help and learn!
Tasks may include:
* Painting and decorating
* Simple construction and basic wiring
* Creative projects (art, design, music, etc.)
* Helping shape the space into a welcoming community hub
We’d especially love volunteers who can:
* Teach or lead yoga or dance sessions by the beach
* Organize fun activities or games for local kids
* Share cultural experiences with the community
---
**What You Get**
In exchange for your help, you’ll experience laid-back island life in a beautiful, natural setting.
We offer:
* Accommodation in a beachfront mixed dorm with sea views
* Access to snorkeling gear and stand-up paddleboards
* Plenty of free time to explore the island and enjoy the ocean
* A chance to connect with locals and other travelers
---
**Our Team**
We currently have two permanent local workers and two part-time staff members who help with general tasks like painting, construction, and maintenance.
---
**What We’re Looking For**
* Positive, respectful, and open-minded people
* Willingness to help with different kinds of tasks
* Interest in community living and cultural exchange
* Minimum stay: 4 weeks
---

If you’re looking for a meaningful experience where you can contribute creatively, meet great people, and enjoy island life, we’d love to hear from you!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We'll take our volunteers to our chill house, where we’ll introduce you to some local friends we hang out with almost every day. They’re great people, and we’re sure you’ll love them!
Most of them are surfers, boat captains, diving instructors, and local tour guides.
As a volunteer, you'll have the chance to learn a ton from them—whether it's about the ocean, jungle, local culture, our island language, or even sharing meals and cooking together.
Help
We truly appreciate kind-hearted, honest travelers with a spirit of adventure who are willing to lend a hand with simple construction tasks as we restore our place because of the moonsoon.
If you have experience or skills in music performance, we would be thrilled to have you teach basic music classes and even perform live for us, just for fun!
We also welcome volunteers with expertise in yoga, dance, martial arts, or any form of physical performance to help organize classes for local children in the village.
Volunteers who enjoy a good party and are passionate about connecting with others are especially welcome—you’re exactly the kind of person we’d love to have around!

Love to have once a week to exchange your local language with local island kids
Accommodation
At this moment we will give a bed in a seaview mixed dorm by the beautiful beach.
No food will be provided in exchange of working only 3 hours in 5 days or we can chat and discuss more about your meal and working hours when you arrive. Minimum stay is 4 weeks.
We are looking forward and excited to see you!
What else ...
In our village, Juara on Tioman Island, you'll find plenty of water activities to enjoy, like snorkeling, skin diving, scuba diving, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, boat trips around the island, swimming in the lagoon, and surfing when the waves are up.
You can also go jungle trekking to a waterfall or hike to the summit for amazing views. If we have the time, we occasionally head out for camping in the mountains or at a private bay.
Our village is home to a turtle sanctuary, where you can even help release baby turtles into the ocean.
Beyond all that, the island itself is stunning, with great vibes and a positive energy that’ll make you feel at home. You can also set up your own activities like yoga, workout sessions, or simply chill by the beach or in the jungle.
We’re pretty sure you’ll fall in love with it here—and leaving might be harder than you think!

I was here last may and June 2025 for 1,5 months. I worked as a yoga teacher. I gave sunrise yoga at a platform above the rocks at the beach.. The best location ever!
I also was allowed to make art. I made art on the walls, tags for the street and many more fun art projects.
I also worked at café. Here I made smoothies,… read more
