    Description

We are a family of four: Tom (builder, coach & body worker), Juliana (relationship coach), Hazel (9 year old fairy) and Aspen, our toddler.
We are building a space of community, learning and nourishment. The land is dedicated as a place for people to come to learn and grow and develop important life skills. Skills such as Permaculture. Earth building. Feldenkrais body work. Qigong energy work. Hunting. Foraging. Growing food. Meditation. Fermentation. Wild foods. Movement and play. Medicinal plants. Eating weeds.

We need helpers to come help us finish our cabin that we are building at the back of the property (the fourth dwelling!).
We want to create a workshop space and also casual airbnb cabin hidden in the bush. So far we have external cladding, a deck and also the interior lining done. Any skills in building/painting/engineering/gardening is greatly welcomed!

On the main dwelling (a strawbale house). We have a big kitchen with gas, electric oven and a fireplace. There is a composting bucket toilet system for now. We have an office with a spare room for someone to sleep in, and a double mattress that can be put in the lounge or the bedroom if we have more people. We also have plenty of space outside to pitching up tents and are hoping to have lots of wwoofers here to create a little workaway international camp!

    A little about the land:
I have a strong permaculture passion and have been developing a food forest here. There are 2 other buildings on the property. A tiny house and a strawbale cottage. There are 2 other's who live in these buildings. The land is set in a national park. There are lots of tree's, birds and insects around. It is very alive, and walking tracks to explore from home and Arataki Centre which is onyl 15 min walk from our home.

We are omnivorous. We try to eat as local and fresh as possible. We also like to eat weeds which happy to teach you about if you're interested in.

in exchange of 4 hours work you'll get use of our home, one dinner a a day and self serve breakfast.

I would like to work with people who are really interested in learning about earthbuilding and have a passion for this type of stuff. I would like to hang out with and meet some cool people and get some good work done on this house too. I intend for it to be finished by this summer! There's a lot of work to do!

Right now the priority is to finish the cabin we started building 1.5 years ago.
That is a bit of sanding, plumbing, putting up walls, creating a bed and building some steps on our deck.
We also need to clear some weeds from the field, and helping with entertaining Aspen is also very welcome.

Some carpentry skills would be awsome.
