Description
We own a family run farm in the interior of beautiful British Columbia. We take great joy in hosting volunteers from around the world and have done so for the past 20+ years. Our volunteers are keeping busy coming alongside us to help with our large garden and orchard to produce food for our family. We also have a few beehives, 2 dogs (Great Pyrenees and Bernese Mountain puppy) and cats as well as horses. Our dogs live getting pet and spent time with. Our horses also love attention and benefit from a good grooming . :)
We are a fun loving, hard working, christian family. Our children are young adults and don’t live at home anymore. We do see them on most weekends though.
Currently we are also building a cabin for our volunteers.
We are looking for someone to help with harvesting the garden and fruit trees, honey, fall clean up, some farm maintenance, helping cook family meals…every day is usually different.
We provide hearty homemade meals and you’re sure not to go hungry while staying with us! You also get your own place that you share with another workawayer. There you have your own room and bathroom as well as unlimited internet and a living room and kitchen.
We live 40 mins from a ski resort (Sun Peaks) and we are surrounded by forests, lakes, rivers and large provincial wilderness parks (Wells Gray Provincial Park). There is opportunity for skiing or snowboarding during winter and hiking, canoeing, swimming, river rafting etc. in the summer. If living and helping on a western family farm interests you, we would love to hear from you.
