    Description

Hello everyone! We're Dan, Sam and Rob, 3 best friends from the UK. With over 16 years of combined travel experience, hitchhiking in over 60 countries, we spent 4 years travelling the world with a dream to create a space where travellers and locals could share, experience, and learn from each other.

After years of hard work and dedication, we made that dream a reality. In November 2016, we opened a hostel/cafe combo in Bucharest with a vision to create a homely community hub for travellers and locals, built on principles of sharing, learning, and community.

2 years later, we expanded our vision, establishing an NGO in the same space as our hostel/cafe with the idea of doing much more to help the local community of Bucharest. The mission of our NGO is to promote education, community service, cultural exchange and community between Bucharest and any traveller coming through the city.

We achieve this by giving talented locals and travellers from over the world a platform plus all the support they need to share their skills, stories, and passions with our community.

We have a beautiful garden, full of fruit trees and nature, equipped with a stage, Arabic tent, hammocks and summer tea house. In our space, magic happens and we love hosting all kinds of events, workshops, live performances, as well as social gatherings, community meals, bbq’s, philosophical discussions, yoga, self-development classes, art exhibits, and other fun activities like jam sessions and trivia/games night to name a few.

When you come and volunteer with us, you become part of the family. Since 2016 we’ve happily hosted 100s of volunteers from all over the world, so if you’re interested in joining our community, then we’d love to hear more about you and your story, so feel free to get in touch.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The main things that you'll learn by volunteering with us are:

•How to work effectively and efficiently in a team.
•How to bring people together from different cultures to form a community.
•How to run fun and exciting events.
•How to run and set up your own NGO or hospitality business.
•Important Interpersonal skills like leadership, communication, organisation & time management.

We are proactively making improvements to the space every single day so that memorable experiences can happen naturally alongside inspiring people who come and stay with us from 110 different countries around the world.

As hosts, we take life proactively, not passively. We have an abundant mentality and appreciate others who are positive and bring enthusiasm to anything they do.

All three of us have very different yet compatible personalities, and we're excited to mesh, teach and learn from you as well.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

After 3 years living here, we have fallen in love with Bucharest and Romania, and know the city inside out. We are happy to share our perspective on the city in regards to restaurants, cafes, markets, parks, free things to do, and hidden gems to explore.

There's loads of sights, parks, restaurants and bars in Bucharest - it's a very lively, exciting and up-and-coming city, and everything is reasonably priced. There is an efficient metro, bus and tram network in the city that will get you anywhere you need to go. There are also many local markets in Bucharest, selling fresh fruits and vegetables at very cheap prices. If you love relaxing, there's also a swimming/spa complex just north of the city called Therme which even has a sauna with a cinema, - it's an absolute must-visit!

Beyond Bucharest, Romania has a lot to offer. Take a short trip north into Transylvania and you'll find lush nature and mountains. Take a short trip east of Bucharest and you'll find the Black Sea, and some of the world's most beautiful untouched beaches. Romania really is a hidden gem!

Feel free to ask if you have any questions at all, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
